There's bound to be a catch somewhere whether it be DLC or a fee to continue playing after X amount of months, however, I doubt it'll end up being more than a standard RRP.

Sounds like Multiplayer may still need Gold but the rest of the game will be free.

This is a cool idea and probably does not require as much work as you might think, although it is still very ambitious. Developers have been using design tools to build games for ages but now that home hardware is more powerful you can actually squeeze some of those tools into very user friendly interface and set them running on people's consoles and PCs. An awesome application of current technologies. :D

Don't get the point of recreating games that already exist. Surely that defeats the point of a tool that is supposed to be creative?

They're just showing what can be done, surely?

Conker the squirrel is in Project Spark

Conker, the star squirrel of Nintendo 64 platformer Conker's Bad Fur Day, will be available for players to add to their games in Project Spark, Microsoft announced today during its E3 press conference.

In game maker Project Spark, players will be able to build their own games from scratch and play together. The game is slated to launch this holiday for Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows PC.

Conker's Bad Fur Day was published in 2001. His last game, Conker: Live and Reloaded, was published for Xbox in 2005. In a trailer shown during Microsoft's press conference, Conker implored players to make their own games for him since it's been so long since he's had his own game.

With Project Spark is there a way/going to be a way to output any game you make as a standalone products which you can make available for sale on Xbox and Windows?

I doubt it very much, you can't in games like Little Big Planet. At most you might get some in-game credits like Forza paint jobs.

This seems to have fallen by the wayside somewhat, in terms of people's interest.
