It's not as great as the first two, I suppose.

I did enjoy Zero Time Dilemma, but the story isn't as brilliant as 9.9.9. or VLR.

Yeah, I think that's fair, but I still thought it was good and in keeping with the first 2. Maybe by going in with limited expectations I ended up being pleasently surprised. Story of my life I guess.

I still have my Vita but it rarely gets a look in these days unfortunately. Loved it right from when I bought it at launch. Played it practically every day for over 5 yrs but it stopped getting used when I found Skyrim on the Switch for lunchtime gaming. That’s now gone too in favour of quick TV watching.

Occasionally play Geometry Wars 3 on it just to keep my eye in. Love that

Kept meaning to reply to this.

I homebrewed my Vita following this guide, Part 1 and Part 2

I also ordered this SD2Vita adapter. It goes into the Gamecard slot and is basically a Vita gamecard shaped MicroSD adapter.

Then I followed this guide to set it up

Now my Vita basically has a 128GB memory card, which cost a fraction of the price and doesn't have the notorious failure rate of Vita memory cards.

The only 'downside' is that since it replaces the Gamecard you can't use gamecards at the same time. Plus if you have an OLED Vita you still need a memory card inserted for it to work due to the lack of internal storage that was added to the later revision.
But I got around problem 1 by using a tool called MaiDump to dump my gamecards to the Vita Memory card, copied those to my PC using VitaShell, then once the SD Adapter was mounted as the memory card copied them back to the SD Card and used the MaiDump tool to re-install them as digital titles. The Henkaku homebrew also allows you to spoof your Firmware version, so you can connect to the PS Store without updating your firmware and re-download all your digital games to be installed on the SD Card.

Jesus Chrisr Laga, now I'm going to want a CFW Vita to go with my CFW 3DS :x

I'll maybe hunt a preowned Vita off Ebay next payday, spent far too much on gaming this month :fp:

Anyone got any recommendations for good vita or PSP games that are japan exclusive? Set my vita up with a Japanese account to play PSP ridge racer and got some money left over.

Gundam Breaker is a hack 'n slash about gunpla, you can mix and match pieces by breaking them off enemies and collecting them for yourself. Basically build-your-own gundam. It's good fun if you like Gundam.

There are 3 games on Vita/PS4, although I actually only have the first. The story isn't important so language isn't much of an issue once you work out the menus iirc. The third game also has a SE Asia release with english menus and subs, but I guess that's not important for you. I'm told 3 is also generally considered the best.

There was a recent game called "New Gundam Breaker" that actually got a western release, but it's bad and screws up on the whole appeal of making your own gundams, which is a great shame.

With Monster Hunter, I probably wouldn't actually recommend it unless you're a die-hard MH fan. There have been better MH games since and they are available in English, Portable 3rd is more just a curiosity tbh!

I know it's a post from the start of the year but did you ever overclock the Vita? The one I bought arrived last week complete with CFW already installed and just noticed you can overclock it. Came with an SD adapter too so had a 128GB card in it which is now full of years worth of PS+ Games and a gooseberry fool ton of PS One/PSP games off the PKG "Store" :shifty:

I am working my way through the Sly Cooper games, bought the trilogy along with the 4th game back when I had my first Vita but never bothered with any bar a bit of the 4th game and I never played them on PS2 either. Enjoying it but theres some annoying sections.

Noticed Autoplugin allows you to install it from there, set the clocks to 444 (Default before the Vita underclocks) and Sly 1 is smoother now.

VITA MEANS LIFE

Decided to power mine on for the first time in nearly 2 years. After being scared it was bricked, charging it overnight seems to have kicked it into gear. Gonna play some Darkest Dungeon, Spelunky, Tearaway...

Mine is on permanent standby and on a charging docking station next to my bed. Geo Wars 3 is my go to game but recently dipped back into NFS Most Wanted. Awesome game and handles really well on the Vita

Charged my OG Vita up this morning and grabbed some PSone classics (RE 1-3 bundle, Parasite Evil 2, Um Jammer Lammy and Vib Ribbon) and I forgot I had a load already like Silent Hill and Soul Reaver.

Good to be playing this system again
