The lack of a decent statement from Sony is what's really annoying.

At least Major Nelson, who is generally useless keeps you up to date when MS are having problems.

I'd imagine that when they narrow down the problem they will say something, but if they don't get the problem isolated they can say "not our problem"

Just thinking that if the clock knows the date doesn't exist how can it pass through to the 1st March? Surely a firmware update could fix it? But that could take a long time to test. Unless they just use the same software that makes the 80gb work? This is all kinds of strawberry floated up.

The really disappointing thing is that there is nothing on the EU blog about it whereas the US blog has had a message up since last night (even though its very vague).

if this is only a problem for the older PS3's, perhaps Sony had an inkling that this may happen a while back and changed the internals back then just in case and then kept fingers and toes XXX?
