Apparently it's common and there's not a massive amount companies can do to prevent it :dread: :dread:

Does "share" twitch streaming require PSN then?

A few times. This isn't the first time it's happened to Sony, either.

Yeah I remember the previous one and the thread. :dread: I didn't own a ps3 at the time though. Scary how easy these thing can be carried out.

DOS is really just increasing traffic to an extent where PSN becomes unusable and Sony probably take it down. I guess they just need an algorithm that can work out if it is valid traffic or something else. Surprised no one has cracked this problem yet.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

But isn't it where some 'hacker' has control over a botnet and uses it to pound a site with data requests?

Pretty much, this is the traffic I'm talking about.

Yes?

So basically. If people didn't download malware it wouldn't be possible?

That's all it does.

That Tweet is supposedly the guy really behind the attack exposing people taking credit for his work.

So it looks like John Smedley's (head of SOA Online) plane really got diverted after the bomb threat that the lizard guy tweeted. gooseberry fool just got real.

In summary... tossers claiming to be tossers aren't the real tosser. Allegedly.

We still can't play online :-(.

Mods, can we move this topic and connected posts to a new thread please. Seems worthy of a new thread.
