If it asks you to do a lot of a stage again you may be doing things in a incorrect order.

I can't remember calling the PS4 pointless and when I said that the PS4 was a damp squib (earlier today) I was referring to the rest of the years release lineup on PS4.

I've stopped trying to second guess exactly which games will hit with me, the prospective PS4 lineup for the year seemed pretty attractive to me at the time. I don't regret buying one for launch despite what you might think.

Like I said, if the versions are close to one another in quality, I'll probably go for the Xbox One version for a number of reasons, I don't see that as 'an excuse' that the Xbox One version is better, it just will be better as far as I'm concerned.

TBH, sounds like you had no reasons to buy a PS4 given your console preference.

I don't understand quite what your problem is with the idea that all things being equal I'd rather get a game for a platform I use more...what's not to understand?

If only you were this understanding for the whole of the last generation.

Still having problems with my drive. Yesterday it did the constant spinning thing (even when there was no disc in the drive). Restart didn't sort it, but unplugging the lead from the PS4 and leaving it for 30 seconds did the trick. Can't decide whether this is "normal" or a fault. Do Sony come to your house with a new PS4 or will I need to return it to Game?

Personally I'd take it back to Game, it certainly doesn't sound normal. Is your PS4 plugged into a cheap and nasty multi plug adapter? Some people have had issues with their PS4 when using one, or at least it's a possible link.

It is a multi plug, but not a cheap one. I'll try plugging it into the wall directly for the next week or so to see if it makes any difference. Don't see why it should, but given unplugging the cable seems to sort out problems I'm at the point where the more ridiculous the solution sounds, the more likely it is to work!

Mines does the exact same, not sure what to do either as when it's plugged directly into the wall 99% of the time I have no issues.

Mine went disc ejecting crazy just the once and was solved with unplugging it for a few minutes.

Yeah mine has started doing the same. Taking the plug out of the back and leaving it for a few minutes seemed to work but sooner or later it will need sent back to Sony if what I seen on other forums is true.

That'll be my second replacement PS4 since launch. Super.

Buy a decent extension lead that grounds properly.

I have a surge proof extension socket adapter thing. That should be okay right?

If you're suffering from the 'random disc eject' problem, and don't mind taking a screwdriver to your PS4, then this guidance may help.

I don't believe that is the problem. I had no problems with Killzone and Knack, it is only since inFamous the problem has happened. If it was simply the extension lead, why didn't I get the problem in the first 6 months or so?

My drive has been getting very noisy too, when playing DVDs. Like, mega noisy.

Then yesterday I started to play Killzone briefly (installed on HDD) and the fan sounded like it was going to take off. I realised the game was a bit gooseberry fool so I turned it off again. But still: :dread:

That probably isn't the same problem. What I and a few (?) others have:

* You will be playing a game, hear a beep, games exits, you are back to interface and game has ejected
* If you are lucky, a couple of re-attempts at putting the disk in will stick (although equally as likely to wait a few seconds and then eject itself)
* Sometimes you will put the disk in and the drive will continually spin but the disk won't read
* If you manage to get the disk out and restart, the PS4 will still spin as if a disk is in the drive
* Simply switching off the PS4, even at the mains won't resolve this, you have to remove the power cable from the PS4, wait 30 seconds, put it back and then everything is fine....
* ....until next time

I've now plugged my PS4 directly into a wall socket but next time disk BS starts again I'll be on the phone to Sony to arrange a replacement.

OK, yeah, that's much worse. :dread:

I was just hoping the noise in mine isn't a precursor to bad things happening.

Every time I play a sand box game my fan goes like the clappers. I'm not worried though, my PS3 used to get scorching hot (almost literally) and that's still going.

Sorry - that's what I meant by 'installed'. I wasn't clear.

That was the loudest it's been by far (though it was also the hottest day we've had since I got the console.) If it's only Killzone that does that, I'll just uninstall it and move on. No great loss. Got as far as the weird floaty-in-space-station bit and totally lost interest.

At least you got that far.

I gave up after reaching the crashed ship, after you jump down the cliff. The checkpointing and save system for this is absolutely borked. It keep resetting the checkpoint back to the beginning, just before you jump down the cliff once i loads up the game save (I got so bored of it so many times) and the checkpoint was supposed at the crashed airship.

I will never play another Killzone game again.
