I have a Pro connected to a 1080p (24"
) screen, TNAG, and it is nice to have the powered-up model. Recent games do make more use of the extra tech oomph in terms of frame-rate and smoother edges and more detailed shadow rendering... albeit this work is often done "behind the scenes" without any reference to this in menu options or on the back of the game box.
Little extras include having an additional USB slot on the back of the machine so that you can connect an external hard drive there rather than having it connected to the front of the machine on the standard model; and the capability to stream at 1080p rather than 720p direct from the console.
I really enjoy using the Pro although I would personally regard the benefits to 1080p screen users as being "nice extras" rather than "essential"; a bit of extra polish to add to the shine.
