Quick, to GRCade! - I've just had to cancel my debit card.

Got an email from play.com saying my card had been declined so logged in to my online banking to check why and found I was nearly £900 overdrawn, turns out some strawberry floater has been using my card to; a) top up their phone, b)buy £750 worth of Euros, c)book a flight to Norway.

Phoned my bank and they've cancelled my card and will refund the fraudulent transactions (thank strawberry float for that).

I've no idea how this has happened but needless to say I'm a bit annoyed.

Happened to me when I was in uni - some £400 gone (hell of a lot of cash when I was in first year uni) - still got it all back and they were really reasonable about it.

It seems Play's Database has been hacked. Some people on rllmuk who's card was only used Play.com have had their card frauded.

Happened to me at uni, got the money back straight away though.

Make sure you change all your security details too.

Changed my play.com password and cleared my card details.

Ever used ShopTo.net?

Log into your account, select Credit/Debit Card on the left, delete your card info and save changes.

I tried that, and it tells me that it needs a card number etc. and doesn't save any changes.

Afraid so, but I removed my details from there months ago so I doubt that's where they got my card details from.
