Actually, Capcom’s showcase tomorrow should have more RE4make and Street Fighter 6 so that could be good

Nintendo need to drop a Direct and save the summer!

Yeah still some potentially good stuff to come. SF6 looks like it's going to sucker me back into trying to "get good" at a fighting game again.

Hoping to see some FF VII Remake Pt 2 stuff in a few days as well.

But I'm mostly wanting Nintendo to come in and drop some big reveal. Surely it's about time we saw something of Metroid Prime 4.

I do like Frankie.

EDIT: No Frankie. :(

I can't remember one significant gaming announcement this entire month. "E3" really is dead.

Yeah, I think the gaming industry has gotten so big that the larger publishers are no longer interested in a relatively small event that has, say, "only" two million people watching it. They seemingly prefer to put messages out on social media platforms.

Rather like with media companies and streaming, publishers also want to move towards doing things themselves rather than being a party of "somebody else's" show.

It's a shame as E3 - or any joint event - can be super-fun but it feels like that era has passed.

A trade show like E3 was an absolute necessity in the pre-internet world. It's much harder to justify it's existence now.

The fact Nintendo didn’t bother with a full general is quite telling really, I doubt we’ll even get the full E3 experience ever again even if the event comes back. Devs/pubs now see they can save money a ton of money and still reach the audience.

These are the prices companies have to pay to have a time slot in Gamescom Opening Night Live  wonder if Summer Games Fest was doing something similar? No wonder companies do their own reveals online now.
