The worst ones are the toilets that have the little... shelf that the gooseberry fool just sits on and stinks the place out rather than being submerged and therefore somewhat acting to trap the icky smell of your devil's donuts.

You have to go for the VIPoo Xtreme Edition.

It's a two part pack - the first part is a gas-grenade filled with high strength VIPoo air freshener which you chuck into the cubicle before entry. Once this has released you employ part two - a gas mask which you strap on before bursting in and completing your business as quickly as possible.

I don't but it's a fairly common thing in parts of the world. Squat toilets (or "stand and deliver" toilets as they are also known! ) are seen a lot in parts of Africa and Asia I believe.

There was a “does anyone else other than Americans use mouthwash?” thread this morning.

In the public toilets I used in the hutongs in Beijing there were no cubicles, only a row of squat toilets - apart from one sitting-style toilet stood at the end near the entrance. It was really bizarre, anyone could just walk in as you're sat there going about your business

The back splash from standing and peeing is quite disgusting, so yes I sit and pee.

Although early morning pee is quite tricky, having to try and wedge it so that it doesn’t go everywhere.

It's nice, every now and then, to treat yourself to a sit down wee and a ball scratch.
