Have to disagree from a content perspective. First piece of actual information is below the fold and the text is tiny compared to the amount of white space. There's also too much grey text so inadequate contrast and other basic web design fails.

A few people on GRcade are more actively streaming now. A new thing that NeoGaf is doing is they have a link on the left side to user livestreams. It would probably be pointless on a website like ResetEra with a large active membership because the sheer amount of streams would make it difficult to filter. However with GRcade having a more manageable amount of members maybe there could be a button/page for that in case we wanted to see what fellow members are streaming?

As the web design guru I respect that you consider multiple functionality aspects. But just the aesthetics, you don't think it looks pretty?

The having the streams link on the site I believe has been asked about on occasion for a couple of years. I think Qikz brought it up first.

Yeah I'd love to do it. Not sure when I'll have time but it's on the to-do list, alongside getting a link to our Discord in the title.

The colours are ok, I'd say one or two too many (not a huge fan of the sprinkles, reminds me of a stagecoach bus circa 1979) and the font choice, shapes, edges etc are all on trend. The pea green and orange are a bit off and clash with the richer blue and red. Not very considered or in keeping with the demographic I feel. That's an eco sort of green I'd expect on a recycled paper or vegetable farm site.

There's something about video game communities that when they try to appear "modern" i.e. 1960 they just get colour wrong, either too many, or blaringly oversaturated, or none at all (I.e. all steel grey, admittedly a safer option).

Then again I don't think neogaf would really accept pastels which is the trend at the moment so I can see why they got confused. Maybe they've gone with "colourful and vibrant community" but at the same time they lack the balls or colour theory to use all bright colours that work together. The problem they have is they've decided "we have four sections so we need four colours" which isn't a rational decision. Then added more.

You can guess why there isn't any purple. On colour, that massive orange banner with contrasting button... It'd work better if it was simply white with some coloured elements like a colour border - just this once, to make it stand out (not everywhere). Orange is a very bold colour to use, it makes think of..well.. Soup, or something worse. If someone doesn't like orange, you're a bit strawberry floated. I personally have a distaste for yellow, anyway...

But the point of web design is to consider legibility and functionality before aesthetics, aesthetics are the easy part.

It's not terrible but it misses the mark like most contemporary web pages and it doesn't stand out as anything special either. It's a bit "better late than never".

I by no means consider our theme original or perfect by the way as I've never had 100 hours to work on a proper process, it's just "here's a theme we can work in that is relatively clean looking, is responsive, isn't too different from before and isn't awful" :lol:

There's a general trend amongst some things, it also happened to tapatalk app, to have loads of padding and rounded edges which together shrink content down to a tiny relative area, which I think is a mistake especially on large screens.

Speaking of larger screens, I was thinking of an optional two column layout for our main page on desktop, due to how it currently stretches 100% and makes no real use of space.

It would allow us to have other things, like the mentioned twitch or discord integration.

Sure my first kiss was a nice surprise but I had it in front of a bunch of friends and other women watching Alien for some reason in a party of my own making. I kinda feel bad this guy has nobody to tell "hey I kissed a girl! And btw it wasn't my mother"

I also have a strong memory of falling asleep on the floor with them with my face in her breasts but I couldn't breath so I had to rolled over and explain myself, this was a terrible mistake as I can still hear the sigh of rejection.
