Porn is pretty racist.

Porn is basically a microcosm of the problems with society - it's racist, misogynistic, full of arseholes and generally ends with you getting strawberry floated over by some kind of labourer.

YouTube is pretty racist as well. The community is full of racists (see: PewDiePie, the alt-right pipeline), and there is baked-in racism even on the level of "the algorithm". In the past Google's algorithms have done things like misclassifying black people as gorillas, and we know the recommendations algorithm reinforces and amplifies controversial, racist content.

@Qikz: It's okay to be fatigued with political discussions but I don't think those examples are ridiculous, it sounds to me more like you're just tired of it. It's totally normal but I don't think it's a reflection on Era?

I think it was a segment on the Daily Show a few years ago, but they were looking at racism in porn. It was actually far worse than you would imagine, black porn actors face pretty horrific discrimination in the industry. White people and Asian girls do ok, everyone else gets strawberry floated and not in a sexy way.

Asian girls are the best.

There's a girl I know through a mate who does stuff like this constantly. I actively try to avoid ever seeing her. She annoys the living gooseberry fool out of me and is a complete strawberry floating buzzkill.

So I don't know the context (link?) but if, let's say, all the popular Breadtubers are white, then that might be interesting for various reasons. You might ask, why aren't there more minority Breadtubers? Are we missing important perspectives because of that? I think that kind of discussion might be worthwhile.

Of course I agree the basic statement "left-wing YouTube is too white!" doesn't really mean anything without discussion or context so if that was the level of discourse presented then I can see why it would be frustrating.
