Don't know exactly but it's some dumb gooseberry fool about this game taking place in a different reality than the original FF7, there's these Dementor things trying to keep things the same as that game but the gang ends up defeating them and things pan out differently. I don't think Aerith dies in this one.

It’s worth nothing that that wasn’t even going to happen in this game anyway, because it doesn’t happen until WAAAAAAY later in the story.

But, it’s absolutely brilliant that these psychotic fans are actually represented in the game by the ghosts that haunt the characters into following the same plot as before, and delicious that said fans can’t see that.

I think it was Austin Walker on his podcast said “this is not FF7, it’s not a ‘remake’ of that game. This is FF7: REMAKE, and you need to treat that subtitle like it was the subtitle of a Kingdom Hearts game or something”. Part of the story is that FF7 has been made before, and that’s what makes this particular remake so exciting. They’ll hit the broad strokes you remember, but if you’re someone that knows the plot inside out, you can still speculate with everyone where they might take it. There are no insufferable “book wankers”, anything could happen. Maybe Aerith still dies. Maybe someone else. Maybe multiple characters die. Maybe nobody does.

It is so blatantly obvious that this was a better direction than everyone had in their heads. And I’ll repeat that the people whinging about the changes being actually represented in the game by dark ghosts haunting the characters that they ultimately overcome and defeat, is just *chefs kiss*

For someone to respond like this guy has makes me sad, tbh. I can’t even laugh at it because I’m just bummed out that people are actually that pathetic.

Like it's a 20 year old game etc so no worries but I had genuinely avoided that character death spoiler all these years. (I knew someone died just not who haha)

Going to end it all.

Edit: the worst bit was I was sat for 5 minutes wondering what you meant by "Erris" before realising :slol:

There was a guy on old GR that was super into certain things, especially capcom stuff and the perfect dark zero opening intro.

He was super looking forward to Lost Planet when it was announced.

During that e3, capcom accidentally put the lost planet demo up on 360 early for 5 minutes, before pulling it.

I got it and he didn't.

When he saw me playing it on his friend's list he sent me death threats. :fp:

Can't 100% remember if that was his username! I think he was deaf in one ear (and liked to turn the base up for that PDZ intro and lie on the floor, describing his experience as almost orgasmic, I think) and I thiiiink his avatar was the preloaded one of aladdin's face?

Does that ring any bells?

Well mystery solved. I just laughed it off at the time, he always seemed a bit eccentric and like he had some struggles to deal with. Hope he's doing okay these days.
