I guarantee at least some of the people in that thread proclaiming they saw how problematic it was at the time were actually sat there laughing their arses off when it first aired.

I've re read that post multiple times now and I still can't understand what whataboutism is supposed to mean.

I think Little Britain bar the odd sketch was a load of gooseberry fool, but that’s not the point. Yes, I’m well aware Michael Jackson was probably a nonce (The Simpson’s), Jimmy Saville definitely was a nonce (Top of the Pops), Robin Ethics was a murderer (WCW/WWE), old sitcoms feature homophobic or racist language (Friends, Only Fools and Horses, Fawlty Towers) and many cartoons don’t hold up either (Looney Tunes) but I’m quite capable of making my own decision whether I want to watch it, and I’m well aware times and attitudes adapt with time.

Warner Brothers had it right putting a disclaimer before programming rather than attempting to retcon or dictate what I can and can’t watch from history.

Or a positive that they can react so quickly in pulling blatantly racist content?

Edit: I realized after the fact that my comment could be construed as me ignoring that the lady was trying to kill a black man in favor of me pointing out that she's choking her dog. This was exceedingly poor phrasing on my part and I didn't mean to imply that the latter was more important than the former. I apologize.
