Yeah it's a bit too short to really get a handle on it, but I enjoyed what I played of it. Might give the Switch version a shot to see how that runs.

Almost more hyped for this than RE8. Bloody love R-Type.

The only game from that genre I ever played with any regularity was Sol Deace on the Mega Drive (known as Sol Feace in US/EU I believe). It was average and rock-hard but I loved it:

Ah, yes, this takes me back! I’ve got it (as Sol-Feace) on the Mega-CD.

I thought I was the only person in the world that had played it

I loved the first game but I do feel I really only scratched the surface of it.

Looking to really dig into this one.

I really wish Final was playable on something more up-to-date than the PS2.

I’ve got Final 2 pre-ordered and downloaded, and grabbed Dimensions while I was at it, to brush up a bit.

It's definitely a shame it's never had a re-release on anything. I've not played it on any emulators though, I imagine they might be able to upscale it nicely at least.

Ah damn, it looks like this doesn’t unlock until 6pm. Annoying.

I always forget emulation. But I imagine a half decent PC would be needed to emulate PS2. Better than I’ve got, anyway.

I was looking to probably get this as I have been playing R-type since I was in school, then I looked at the price for the digital deluxe on steam :dread: £60

Haha, strawberry float me, they’ve left half the menus in Japanese, including the manual!

I initially thought it was just a style thing, leaving some of the text in Japanese, but no, it’s the default language.

To change it:
From the main menu, the fourth item is Options.
In options, the second item is Language Settings.
