Wow, great work Joer!

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Keep it up Joer, you've done it once which means you can do it every week. Getting to the point of being able to run 5k is the hard bit.

Well done everyone. I cycle to work everyday and I’m physically fit, and I ran a 5K Park Run recently with my Dad. I went out way to fast, and I knew I was in trouble about 5 hours after the run when I realised I couldn’t move my legs. This got worse on the Sunday and I didn’t recover for about 5 days. Running is tough, so respect to you all.

Congrats Joer, doing yourself and your mum proud.

As an aside - running just seems like the least pleasant way to spend any time doing anything. I've started cycling about 20k every other weekend and the amount of people I see absolutely dying on their arse whilst running is grim, it just looks so painful.

Well done Joer!

Running is awful, I never enjoyed it and it was just a means to losing weight.

Oh the contrary, cycling is horrible, absolutely horrible.

I don't mind running, and have gotten into it more over the last 6 months, but it's not something I could ever actively enjoy - unlike cycling which is just fun!

I can't agree, cycling is so much lower impact.on your joints and is a gentler form of cardio, like swimming. Sure you can push yourself cycling up a mountain, but riding along a relatively flat track is far preferable to running it in my opinion. Each to their own though, even those who are wrong :toot:

Whatever you do Joer, just keep doing something. You've built up a level of fitness, even just maintaining that will see the weight fall off.

This.

Don't stop. Do another 5k, do to the end of your road every evening, keep it going and you'll start to rapidly she'd weight and feel so much healthier in general.

It’s taken me a while to bring myself to update this, but on Sunday night my mum lost her fight with cancer. She went surrounded by people that loved her until she took her last breath.

I just want to say thanks again for all of the donations and messages I got when this happened, and I’m glad we were able to do the race for her.
