Bought and played about an hour.

Shooting is great, I'm already tired of the driving and world.

I think this is going to be very cheap, very soon.

In its opening week, Rage 2 sold just a quarter of Rage 1's physical launch sales. (Rage launched here in the UK on a Friday. Rage 2 launched on a Tuesday, so had longer on sale, too.)

Meanwhile, on Steam, Rage 2 launched with a peak of 13,591 players, according to Steam Charts, but it's been downhill since then, with 2518 playing at the time of this article's publication.

Up to 50 per cent of UK console sales are now accounted for by digital, per research by GamesIndustry.biz - so, applying this generously to Rage 2, sales are only down on Rage 1 by half.

Weird game this. It's just so odd. Coming to the end of it now.

The gunplay is doom but without the armoured enemies so everyone dies quickly.

The world is big and empty so it's action for a minute then 5 minute drive to the next action scene.

The world is fully open, so.... I spent a lot of the game using the basic upgraded machine gun. The rest of the weapons and powers are around the world but it's up to you to find them.

The powers are few and also poor. Force push and force jump splat are good but who needs a shield power in a game like this.

Its a world with a ubi soft map, lots of little icons it's the same old things to do. Go here. Kill that.

A very strange game as it doesn't work together as it should. It ticks all boxes but has no heart.

Also the trailers are so misleading. There isn't that much action in the game. It's a lonely walk between action in a grey world of dullness.

Also hiding the BFG behind a paywall, scummy move.

Only recently purchased this, not really expecting to like it, but so far I've put in 20+ hrs and determined to actually get this one done. The gameplay loop is addictive and fun.

It's also a beautiful-looking game (these shots are all from the PC version).
