Add yours.

Me:

The Xbox Series X is a great name because it can be shortened to SX, which hearkens back to things like the ZX Spectrum, the Atari ST and - especially since it's a Microsoft product - the MSX. So what do people do? Shorten it to XSX, which isn't as cool and is rather unwieldy. Eck Sess Ecks. Boooo.

There is no way the lower tiered SX is going to be called the Series S, unless no-one at Xbox realises that "Xbox SS" isn't the best name.

While obviously ridiculous anyway, having people coping just fine wearing masks all day really accentuates just how BS the whole "Quiet can't breathe while clothed" stuff from Metal Gear Solid V: The Kojima Wanktime is.

Sure Suicide Squad's gonna be good, but come on Rocksteady, a Die Hard game in the vein of Arkham Asylum practically prints money.

Ubisoft: Do we really need another 57 "army mans who are emotionally connected on a professional level" games, or do we need fkin Blood Dragon 2?

There's not enough AAA quality turn based strategy games.

Blizzard need to remake Rock N Roll Racing but keep the isometric viewpoint.

The cost of game+season pass is what we should be paying, with inflation and the vast increase in the size and quality of games compared to 25 years ago. People who disagree with this: it’s because of you that we have microtransactions.

I'm not paying £70 for a game.

Well I don't buy microtransactions either, so I don't see your point.

Games are ludicrously cheap these days. I’m still paying the same sticker price I was in 1998. Something had to give.

Even if games cost £100 to buy, developers would still put microtransactions in. It's just a very profitable "feature" to add.

Inflation went up, wages didn't. If you wanted people to pay inflation on video games then you need to pay people more.

Besides, sticker prices on video games I remember going up to like £70 for some N64 games, no game should cost that amount.

I don't really care if the msrp of AAA video games go up, because most will still end up 75% off before 6 months is out.

Meanwhile, the tools available to indie devs and smaller teams are incredible in terms of what they can achieve, and the tech requirements can remain relatively low, so it's not like there's no way of games being made more cheaply as well.

Some indie games are definitely getting closer in quality to AAA due to engines like Unity and Unreal Engine being licensed out but for every one of them there's hundreds of half arsed asset flip/hentai visual novel piles of gooseberry fool flooding Steam.

Nope.

We have micro transactions because of people with too much money spending it on bullshit. All while cheered along by people who can't stop sucking off big businesses that couldn't give a gooseberry fool about them.

Yes. Remember "online passes" that were supposed to kill the used game industry? Now that was some quality banding together of the customer collective.

There are plenty, Slitherine publish most of them and while some can be expensive, they go on sale quite often on steam etc;

Panzer Corps 1&2
Battle Academy 1&2
Warhammer 40,000 Sanctus Reach, Armageddon, Gladius, Mechanicus
Order of Battle: WW2
Flashpoint Campaigns

Also more niche but yet more expensive stuff like Combat Mission, however they are a lot more rewarding and the older games are cheap on gog.
