Viva Pinata is wonderful but you might as well just buy it for like 2 quid and wait for BC.

It was free with Games with Gold in November 2014 as well.

I probably have it then.

It's more like a build gooseberry fool to beat challenges style experience. Trouble in Paradise was a really fun and unique game that I spent quite a bit of time with. I barely remember anything about bar that annoying red strawberry floater who always came to my garden.

Plus you got Conker and Blast Corps. Jet Force Gemini is rated highly by many (I don't agree!)

I picked this up. Here's a complete list of Rare games I've played before:

Viva Piñata (first 30 minutes)

So this should be interesting. I'm expecting to think most of it is gooseberry fool, but I am hoping to be proven wrong.

Viva Pinata and Banjo Kazooie N&B are two of the best 360 (and Rare) games.

What's with all the moaning about JFG's controls? Genuine question, I'm not an Xbone owner so shan't be getting this but I'm interested to know what everyone is so upset about.

They're pretty awkward to use. I didn't seem to mind them as a kid on the N64 but it was pretty tricky trying to play on the X1 last night. I might be able to get used to them but I'm looking forward to trying out the patched controls.

There's only one analog stick on the 64 pad. Shooting and movement in a 3D space was very awkward.

Dual stick controls would help the game so much.

I've given this a bit of a spin, and went straight to try some of the really old stuff. I liked Slalom, Jetpac and RC Pro AM, but Snake Rattle n Roll, Gunfright and the Sabre Wulf stuff was really not my bag. Atic Atac was pretty frantic, so might do that some more.

Are the snapshots only for the retro stuff? I guess they're easy to modify for them and load quickly compared to perfect dark or kameo for example.

Blast Corps <<<<<<3

I still hate that truck where you have to drift into buildings to destory, though. Still can't nail the timing/turning :(

You can't aim and move unless you hold down one of the left shoulder buttons which then switches movement to the right analog stick. I didn't mind using the C-buttons to move on the N64 but it's really weird using the right analog stick to move on the X1. When you're not holding down aim, the right analog stick is used to jump and duck which is even stranger. There's an alternative mode which maps jump to the A button and duck to the B button but I don't think that you can manually aim in this mode. I tried it briefly last night but couldn't work out how to aim so I switched back to the other control method.

Manual aiming itself isn't very smooth as you can't subtly adjust the sight so it's better just to use the right analog stick to move your character into position once the target is near the enemy. Trying to move the aiming reticule often means that it jerks right past the enemy your're trying to hit. I spent less than an hour playing it, and not long trying to aim precisely, so I may get used to it but it's definitely not easy to get into. It's a shame because the game itself is still enjoyable and I'm looking forward to finally completing it, even if I wait for the patch.

Well, Jetpac is fun. The problem is not lot of people started playing it so I'll hold off serious gaming sessions with it until TA value drops, but yeah can see myself playing it off and on.

Played a bit of Underwurlde and then some Perfect Dark last night.

Great fun! Love the new challenges mode on the older games, ace.
