:shifty:

EDIT: Sounds like they are adding a lot of accessibility options to this which is cool, allows more people to play through it

Like Returnal, this is a game I really want yet this is another game priced way over the jump I expected for next Gen. I will wait till it’s sub £55

It’s funny now that, as PS5 games will be priced at £70, when they drop to a *sale* price which will likely be £40-50 that will be considered good. I wonder if the days of getting these big new releases for under £30 will be a thing of the past? At least not within the first 2 years of launching.

I think prices will level off once Microsoft bring out some exclusives (probably in 2023!).

New gen prices always spike for a few years before settling back to a more "normal" level. It's the price you have to pay as an early adopter

I think that's a fairly widespread tactic used particularly in mobile games, isn't it? Overprice transactions so that when a sale is on, it's still really expensive but the customer is duped into thinking they're making a great saving.

Hopefully Sony don't adopt this strategy long term and the prices do come down though. I'm glad I bought Returnal but the price tag absolutely stings something fierce.

It’ll be 35 quid by Thanksgiving/Christmas, I guarantee it. It’s when I plan on playing it as I haven’t even started the free PS4 R&C yet!

It’s only this because gamers buy it. If we all stood together this wouldn’t happen. I expect a price hike on a new console and i would accept £50 - £55 max but a jump from £40 to £70 is insane.

Stand by your guns gamers! Together we stand etc etc!

I also like the fact that PS4 games have increased too to justify the price jump although a week later its back down again. Nier for example set at £45 - £50 is now down to £40 and that’s currently uk’s #1

Yeah but gamers are never going to actually stand up and do anything collectively that would have an effect and the likes of Sony know it sadly.

New “full price” PS4 games cost £59.99 and have done throughout the entire generation. I think Activision even pushed it a bit further and CoD was £64.99

It's more like £45 to £65, but I'm with you, the prices are disgusting. I think they will go down over time, Sony even have form for bringing down the price of new releases officially; they did it during the PS1 era.

They'll be able to bring prices down once enough units have been made for there to be a much larger user base. There are more than 15 times as many PS4s in circulation as PS5s at the minute...
