At that price, why do they even bother putting a standard edition out? Yeesh.

(I'm sure there was a Rift Apart thread made at the time of the reveal. Couldn't find it. If mods/admin can find it, then please post this in there and lock this. Ta.)

I'm really looking forward to this. I only played the PS4 game last year but it was so much fun. June is good timing as well, just after Resi.

I'm going to try to never buy a Sony published game at launch again. £70 is a piss take, compared to $70, even if you take into account sales tax. I'm sure I'll break when GoW comes out, but I'll try to stay strong.

Saying that; I'm still really looking forward to this.

That box cover artwork looks terrific; I love the colouring.

But, yeah, £69.99? Sony are really going in hard with pricing for new gen games and I've decided I'm out. I just don't want to get into a situation where games cost that kind of money.

£70! strawberry float me. :dread:

I am really looking forward to this and it's still a key reason why I'm likely to pick up a PS5 before the end of this year. I was replaying the original Ratchet & Clank on PS2 with the kids and it's still such a great game and series, can't wait to get back into it!

Love the boxart for this. I'm hyped for it but definitely not £70 hyped.

I'd love a collection of the ps3 games to come out on the ps5. Some nice 4k tart up and HDR would be brilliant.

I think they're going to struggle to keep that pricing here, after the launch period in which people have little choice. I've tried to hassle their UK twitter account, but don't get any response; unsurprisingly as I have no followers. Perhaps someone with more influence could try..?

For comparison, the US are paying around £55 which includes sales tax. I'd be ok with that.

It'll get cheaper soon, it's currently 63 at base. Game collection, amazon and Smyths will reduce in time. I'll pre order it up when it hits under £60 in a couple of weeks.

Wish my image sig would work

It will probably be in the Platinum range by the time I manage to get hold of a PS5!

You can get DS for around £54 brand new now, I'll just wait for prices to come down. If enough people do that, they'll rethink their pricing in the UK.

I could never spend that on a game. It just wouldn't sit right with me.

But thats not a criticism of the game, i played the PS4 one on PS+ and really enjoyed it. But at no point during my playime would i have paid £70 for the privilege of being able to continue playing.

I rarely buy physical games at full price, but it being the start of the gen I made an exception for Demon's Souls and Spider-Man Miles Morales Ultimate Edition. However, leaving them on my shelf after completing both games was far harder than I ever expected it to be

My plan this generation was to go physical and end the generation with a shelf full of memories.... Since launch I've bought and played about 10 ps5 games and traded them all apart from Demon Souls.

I think that's the way forward and makes digital purchases an absolute con. Buy physical; at least you can sell them on.

£70, how very N64.

Looking at prices of current PS5 titles from Sony, such as Sackboy, Spider Man Ultimate, and Demon’s Souls, they've all had £10-£15 hacked off their RRP, so this £70 price point doesn't hang around for long. The difference is really in the initial discount price, as whereas third parties are selling at under £40 after a couple of months, Sony are still around £50-£60.

Only two scenarios I'd ever spend £70 on a game: A) I know I can complete it within a couple of weeks and sell it on eBay, therefore recouping my money or B) the game is so massive (Gran Turismo 7, Grand Theft Auto) that I know it's geniunely worth the money and never going to be sold off.

Worst offenders are the sports titles, such as FIFA, which lose so much of their value within a year that I feel you'd have to be a real hardcore sports nut not to accept just buying an 'outdated' copy.

As for Ratchet and Clank itself, I'm really looking forward to it. Looks fantastic from what I've seen thus far. The PS2 2002 original is still my favourite though. Enjoyed that immensely (still preferred Jak and Daxter, however).
