Looks like another title for my "Reasons to buy a PS4" list.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Is there any benefit at all to pre-ordering on the Playstation store? I've never done it so I've no idea but do prices go up on release? Are you guaranteed to get the lowest price (say if there's a PS+ discount)?

There's not usually any cost benefit to ordering from the PS store, Rex. Prices hardly ever, in my experience, change prior to release. The benefits are that you can *usually* start the download early (if not, it becomes available to download at midnight) and some folk feel that it's nicer to play off the HDD rather than from disc.

Personally, I prefer to download for PS4 games and, having seen so many positive reviews, I hope to do so for this game :toot: .

FAKE EDIT: Oh, and buy your PS credit from a key seller (such as cdkeys.com) ahead of the game release, so that you can save a pound or so on the PS Store price.

Thanks Jawa. I've picked up some credit from CDKeys earlier as that looks like the cheapest option at the moment. I'm definitely edging towards buying all my PS4 stuff digitally as I think it will save me money in the long run. I've a stack of physical games I picked up using the excuse that if I don't play it too much then I can trade it in. If I buy digitally then I don't have that fallback and I find I make more considered purchasing decisions.

I absolutely loved Tools of Destruction (and less so Quest for Booty) and this looks like a real return to form for R&C. Plus, this kind of 3rd person platforming/shooter is something my PS4 library is missing.

That's how I've approached it, too. I aim to buy fewer titles - only those that I am really keen on - and in those case I go digital.

Definitely, man - I do enjoy 3D platformers but they went out of fashion. It's good to see that this new R&C appears to be a real gem!

Got an Amazon order bunged in for £28. It's £30 on the PSN Store, which is an unusually small markup.

My guess is they're going for Brand SyngergyTM, so it's cheap enough that you'll pick it up up after seeing the film and you might try it 'cos it's cheap and then go see the film because you like it.

There's also the fact that it isn't exactly a completely new game...well it is a completely new game, but then again its also a remake of the original.

It's not even a remake, it's a reimagining. A lot of changes have been made to the story and new weapons, gadgets, gameplay and planets.

I personally am looking forward to it a somewhat unusually large amount. You just can't beat a bit of Ratchet, if it's done right (Q-Force and Gladiator, kindly do one).

As far as I remember it is launching in France today ( no idea why it's only France ) then 20th for the rest of mainland Europe and finally the UK on the 22nd.

I'm not overly interested in this even though I enjoyed it on the PS3. Given the good reviews, I'll pick it up when cheap.

Yes?

Even GameCentral gave it a 80! It's definitely going on the list.
