LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. 4 out 5. A huge amount of side content and has loads of replay value. Definitely recommend picking it up.

Wow, really? I must have missed a lot of side stuff.

Warioware Gold - 7/10

I would be annoyed if I spent 20-30 quid on it. It's like 2 hours long! But it was very good two hours. Made me want to play Rhythm Paradise Megamix again.

GTA V. Started it so many times over the years but this time I properly played it and it was decent, haven't done "everything" but done the main story, all in all good fun, the end mission felt a bit too easy but yeah decent story game good fun.

Next up Cyberpunk.

A really fun, well paced game, with some very modern design sensibilities (very little back tracking, being able to have a selected car delivered to you) and almost no "down time".

Enjoyed the plot (predictable as it was), and all the voice work was top tier. Combat (both melee and fun) was way ahead of the GTA series, but I think the driving was not quite as polished. Good soundtrack, though clearly less money was thrown at licencing. Great Karaoke game.

A very easy game, so a lot of the upgrade paths and fight techniques were a bit pointless, but that did not annoy me as much here as it has with many other games.

I would like to give it a 9, but i'm going to have to mark it down an extra 0.5 because there were certain sections of the street route you had to do again and again that were annoying to navigate, and though you could get taxis to fast travel they were rarely around when you needed them. Oh, and that "identify the dealer" CCTV mini game was dull because it was ALWAYS the same character model you were looking for - not the actual activity they were carrying out.

A really good game for fans of GTA, Yakuza and the Arkham games.

8.5

Wow, you blitzed through this. I thought you were just starting out when we were discussing it the other day. Took me over 30 hours to do everything, from what I recall. Glad you enjoyed it though :toot:

I think I was just starting out! I finished it in about a week, and it took me around 15 hours (including the New Years DLC but not the Halloween one, which I am saving).

It sounds like I missed quite a lot of side story activities (mainly the racing activities), but I loved just about all of it.

Riptide GP: Renegade - 7/10

+ Looks quite nice
+ Reasonable soundtrack (but a bit too drum & bass heavy)
+ Good upgrade and progression system (for the most part)
+ Lots of races and events

- Adding police to some races doesn't really add any benefit or challenge, it's just an annoyance
- Cheating AI in the harder races

Lots to like here - just a solid if unremarkable racer. The progression is a bit weird in that you keep earning money and unlocking skill points even after you've unlocked everything and there's nothing else to spend either on, but apart from that, it's all pretty good, lots to do, good variety, fun and challenging. As mentioned above, the introduction of police into some races is a waste of time and only detracts from the experience, and the cheating opponents in later races is annoying too. The plot's pretty crap, but it's a racing game, so no real surprise there. It has some nice 'side quests' I guess. Solid game though, much like the one before in the series.

Ace Combat 7 (PS4, played on PS5) - 8/10

Really enjoyed this. I took a break from the punishment of Elden Ring to try something that had been collecting dust in my library and AC7 was that lucky game. Hadn't played an AC game since AC4 on PS2 which I absolutely adored and this was more of the same really. Terribly cheesy and cliche story, great graphics and of course lots of cool fighter planes to fly and cause chaos with.

Gorogoa - 8/10

+ Unique concept
+ Satisfying when you solve a puzzle
+ Doesn't outstay its welcome

- A bit ambiguous in places

Weird game, this. Pretty enjoyable I guess, sometimes requiring some outside-the-box thinking, other times relying more on trial and error. Quite vague in its plot, but it doesn't really need much when it's usually fairly clear what the next step is, and you're just moving from one puzzle to the next. Took me just under two hours to complete. Pretty good, but not as groundbreaking and incredible as I've seen some people claim.

Agree with this assessment. I remember it being very trial and error. I wasn't really solving problems, just exhausting all the permutations.

I can see how this would happen tbh. Sometimes it very much becomes a case of just trying everything on a mechanical scale, and if a few combinations do not occur to you there is little to aid you.

I did think it was a good game for the most part though.

Got a 1-ALL (1 credit clear) on GG Aleste 1 (Originally a gamegear game, now on the Switch Aleste Collection made by M2). Aleste is a series made by Compile.

Overall it's not a very hard shooter, but I had a lot of fun playing it, the musics great, the weapon system is fantastic as well. 8/10

I still play Super Aleste on my SNES, shame it doesn't appear on the collection. Another instalment with great music.

Ah! I've not played a game in the Aleste series but I know that it has a good reputation and it's cool that you're trying it out, Qikz. I do have a copy of Robo Aleste on the Mega CD; I really like the cover design but have yet to give it a proper go.

If you have it you should really give it a try. They're quite hard games as a series but they're super fun. I honestly wasn't expecting anyone here to have heard of the series and here you and Andre appear :msgreen:

Probably going to be a second collection if it sold well. M2 are also making a brand new Aleste after their last brand new gamegear one GG Aleste 3!

Death's Door - 8/10

I thought this was great. Some frustrating moments, but it was a lovely little Zelda style game. I would like a sequel.
