I had an idea for videos on Youtube. Here's a short around a minute) review... I thought this may be cool to do.

I liked Blossom Tales a lot, it puts more of a focus on combat (and more enemies on screen at once than in a typical Zelda) which gives it its own flavour, and I liked the Princess Bride framing device of it being told as a story. It's short and simple, but probably one of the better Zelda-likes I have played.

Cheers Pedz! It's funny hearing it back, it sounds like I didn't really enjoy it at all!

Steamworld Dig 2 - 8/10

Love this game. I wish there were more digging areas for post game grinding.

Super Mario Sunshine - 7/10

I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with this game, clearly an improvement over 64 across the entire board in my honest opinion. Mario's core moveset (minus the long-jump) remains as slick as it was before and Fludd is a welcome addition, although I think if Nintendo had introduced this mechanic today, Fludd would've been a much more versatile companion - most levels would likely be designed around each of the different nozzles, for example. Overall I do think Fludd could've amounted to a lot more variety in the various challenges.
Isle Delfino as a location is plenty fun as well, with Sirena Beach strangely being my favourite area despite not offering much to do outside the hotel.

Anyways, I'm currently committed to 100% completion. Let's just hope nothing especially egregiously awkward comes up to derail my momentum...

Yeah there's definitely nothing controller-throwingly annoying in Sunshine. :shifty:

You have that backwards! Trials and Tribulations is one of the best games of all time.

I found some of the characters problematic enough that they dragged the score down for me, for example, the chef and the way characters react and talk about them made me really uncomfortable and has aged poorly. It's also the worst in the series for having moments where you know the answer to a mystery but end up banging your head against a wall trying to work out how the game wants you to present the evidence to prove you understand it.

Twilight Princess HD.

A predictably great 3D Zelda game. It really is close to OoT in terms of the story and mechanics though. I expected it to look ugly but thought it was actually very beautiful and artistic throughout. Last couple of dungeons were weak but the rest was excellent.

8.

Persona 5 Strikers - 7/10

After about the 8th hour, I turned this to Easy so I could play through without grinding. I enjoyed it much more that way. The fights (esp boss fights) went on for 25 minutes of intense play otherwise. I literally never play games on Easy though, so felt a bit like I was cheating.

The game is full of Persona 5's flair and charm and great characterisation, but it repeats itself (and the base game) too closely to score any higher.

Dat soundtrack tho

3>1>2 for me. I wasn't that fond of the majority of 2, but the last case is a cracker.

Turnabout Big Top is one of my favourites of the entire series.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Given I ended up putting 100 hours into this it's safe to say I enjoyed it. It feels like the pinnacle of what Assassin's Creed has become and ranks very high in the series, up with Odyssey and 2 for me. I liked a lot of the stories in each region and the game had some interesting characters. Gameplay was solid and I fell in love with Orlog. It's not perfect though. There were a few bugs where my character would just fly off into the sky until I died. It's also still a bit too big and bloated, I don't give a crap about the out of animus story, and I hated the Cairn rock stacking!

9/10

A Plague Tale: Innocence

Yeah, it was alright. The music has made me want to play Vampyr again.

I wish you could drop the difficulty of Vampyr mid game. I was absolutely loving the tone and the characters, but it got way too difficult for me.

What's frustrating me most right now is that I don't have a strawberry floating clue where the last 6 blue coins are in Noki Bay. It isn't making me want to throw a controller across the room, but it is grinding my gears a little bit.

Did feel like tipping over a table when going for the secret 8 red coins where you get thrown around by those chuckster bastards though...

Yeah it was those red coins I was on about. Absolutely awful.
