Loved it, to my almost genuine surprise. The shooting is tight and varied due to the scenarios the game puts you in, the fighter jet gameplay segments were a nice break. It's just a fun game.

8/10

It’s a hugely underrated game. I think there was a lot of ‘future fighter’ fatigue at the time of release. I really loved the multiplayer, too.

Ghostbusters Remastered 2019 (PS4)

Finished this about 10 years ago, and it's still incredible.

As a lifelong Ghostbusters fanboy, this is just the best game ever.

It's basically the 3rd Ghostbusters film we never got, (until next year at least)

The voice cast did a great job. It's funny and well written, with great detail to lore.

Some gameplay issues, with mobility in the more difficult sections but overall it plays and looks great.

A solid 10 for me.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood - 7/10

I had a lot of fun with this, it has some good jump scares and a few really spooky moments with the rollercoaster theme working surprisingly well. It was fairly short but I found each level was a nice length for playing in VR and the different difficulty levels and scoring for each level do add to the replayability. Had the odd frustration with the way the move controllers were tracked but that's more of a hardware issue than one with the game itself, however combined with the final boss having a few one-hit kill attacks it made it slightly frustrating on higher difficulty levels. Still, overall a really fun PSVR experience.

Yeah, I completely agree. However, watching somebody else play it (I recommend a dozy wife who doesn't know it's a horror game...) elevates it to a 10!

Finished the legendary shooter known as “The Halo killer” that is known as Kill Zone.
Should of called this game No Thrill Zone. It’s that... boring. Holy strawberry float.

The levels are so lifeless & dull. I’ve seen more life in my cats litter tray. I’ve seen better frame rate in porn, An oap bowels have better control than the frame this game offers.

I kind of lost track what the story was about due to the constant repeating lines of my team mates. They just go on & on & on & on & then I was like:

I had no satisfaction when I finished it.

Quite frankly, the worlds most boring game.

428 Shibuya Scramble

One of my absolute favourite VNs that I have played, and I have played a few. Great story and no creepy fan service that so many anime themed VNs have. Would really recommend it to anyone who is a fan of 24 or action dramas of that nature.
Funny, touching and always riveting.

Only criticism is that sometimes it's quite fiddly to work out how to progress the story. But that's testimony to the quality of the story, you always want the next "episode".

It's about 18 quid on Amazon at the moment I believe. If you like VNs pick this up. I remote played the whole thing on Vita, and it felt like I was playing it natively. Text size etc was perfect, and no requirement for L2 L3 R2 R3.

No, because i was completely and utterly inept at the skipping game, didn't even manage 10 skips, let alone the number that was needed. :(

Yeah. It’s disappointing that FFIX have ridiculous goals to get some of the ultimate weapons. 1,000 skips is required to get Vivi’s ultimate weapon. Also finish the game under 15 hours for Steiner’s ultimate weapon (I don’t know why as there isn’t a new game plus so what’s the point of that goal if Steiner doesn’t get a chance to use it? Lol)

Concrete Genie 8.5/10
Really enjoyable and unqiue game that we alas don't see much of these days, it's story is actually pretty good and it's art style is wonderful. Creating genies are incredibly fun and creative, espeically bringing them to life. The massive gameplay change in the final third is a cool change but it ends too quickly.

Middle Earth - Shadow of War - 8/10

Loved this. They improved on every ascpect of the original. Celebrimbor :datass:

It's worth mentioning that all the micro transactions have been patched out of it now, and the game can be picked up for next to nothing.

It's definitely in my top 10 for PS4 games out this year. I think the length is right for its price point (25 quid digitally) but it does leave me wanting for more. Sony hardly promoted this game at all and it hardly made a dent in games charts.

This game deserved to be promoted, bought and played.

Dead Cells 9/10

Fantastic game. Not sure if there's more to it, but I got the credits by killing the king. The combat is so strawberry floating cool, it looks great, it runs great, the humour is a bit dark at times. I can't really fault much about it. Feel bad for playing it through Gamepass. When I get the money, I'll probably end up buying for another platform.

Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. Picked it up again out of a whim after playing through it years ago and ended up sort of bingeing through it. Had a blast. One of the things I really like about the game compared to later ones is how simple it is. Pretty straightforward but serious narrative with some interesting developments. Little of the convoluted or silly stuff you start to see from the following game onwards.

This also applies to the gameplay which was refreshing after the 3DS games/Three Houses which have so many mechanics stacked on top of it each other, with varying results depending on the game. You can still do cool stuff but it's not immediately find ways to break the game.

As well as that I also found the game pretty charming. There's a lot of personality in the character portraits and the music is so good.

Having recently bought an Xbox One I've been catching up on some missed exclusives using Gamepass.

Sunset Overdrive - A very fun game. The weapons definitely have that Ratchet and Clank vibe to them, but the traversal of the city and focus on style give the game it's own unique feel. Wasn't such a fan of the base defence missions, but otherwise it was a blast. 9/10

Quantum Break - Enjoyed this more than I'd expected. Even without watching the episodes I found myself interested in the story and characters, while the combat was exciting and stylish. A little on the short side, but at least it didn't outstay its welcome. 8/10

The Outer Worlds:

Really liked this, but not as much as Fallout New Vegas or even Fallout 4. Felt a lot more limited and simplistic, but the writing was great and the choices felt impactful. Has a great universe to build on and I will be more than on board for a sequel.

Love Parvati

Also looking forward to some DLC and hopefully a new game plus with added challenge as the game felt a little unbalanced.

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair; 10/10 - levels are crafted with love and the Overworld exploration is joyous

The Impossible Lair is aptly named it took me 22 attempts with a full beetalion, I thought while it was difficult it was fair as in everything is possible and the controls are really tight.

The main game took me back to the days of the Donkey Kong Country series on the SNES and finding everyone one of those TWIT coins was akin to the bonus stages, I loved it.

Only one criticism, the Epic Fail screen on failing the Impossible Lair is f'n annoying and it takes too long to reload the Impossible Lair to get back in and have another go!

Soundtrack is stellar, Wise, Kirkhope etc are legends.

Well about done with the masterpiece  that is Geon. Just a few time trials left & some mini game bollocks.

Well here is my super duper definitive final review on this travesty:

You’d rather gooseberry fool in your hands & clap than put yourself through this pain & misery.

Fast Beat Loop Racer GT - PC

A fairly decent port of a Wangan Midnight-ish racing arcade game, held back a bit by the fact that barely anyone has played it for years meaning all the online racing and time attack stuff is kind of pointless, leaving a fairly generic 'story' mode which is told as pre-race text and dialog between characters mid race. Enjoyable, but only took an hour or two to 'finish', and going back to do the same races again but on higher difficulties doesn't appeal.
