Got this in the sale for £5.20 a while back (bargain) and finally got round to playing it. Overall, it is a gorgeous little game and a wonderful co-op experience. I played through with my brother (Jazzem) this weekend and we both loved it. The movement feels great and the puzzles are very elegant-never too obtuse, and working through together is very rewarding. It looks and sounds great too (played on Switch which was a nice port albeit with the odd framerate dip). The ongoing story in the background gives it a kind of other worldy theme and works well in communicating the game's themes. A little on the short side (7 chapters) but haven't given the extra stuff a go yet and it means there's no fluff or padding. Thoroughly recommend for anyone looking for a nice and relaxed couch co-op.
I thoroughly enjoyed this but wanted to play through it a second time to finalise a score. It's nice and quick - as a Resi should be - and really brings the series back to its roots as a survival horror game. I'm part of the minority who really enjoyed the switch to action horror that 4, 5 and 6(well, 4 and 6) pulled off, but it's great to go through a really tough, story driven, and in places genuinely quite unsettling game.
Oh definitely. I made a point of going in blind and after Mia chops Ethan's hand off with the chainsaw I swore loudly enough for my wife to run through from the spare room to see what was going on.
I'm really not sure if i am up to playing this in VR. I have owned it for 3 years now, and always promise myself i will play it at Halloween. So far i have substituted it with -
Just finished Spider-Man, and think it's up there with my favourite games of all time. I love the character, so it has that over the Arkham games on a personal level. I remember a lot of people complained about the side-content, and I usually hate collectables (I have no platinums or 1000/1000 GS other than those games that give them to you just for finishing them), but actually enjoyed all the bases, the challenges, the backpacks, the photos, so ended up going for 100% The only thing that slightly dragged was the crimes. I was doing them as I saw them, yet towards the end I think I still had over 60 to do to finish up.
I thought they did a great job with their versions of most characters, and a some of the boss fights felt so epic, especially near the end
Almost exactly 5 hours to 100% complete (as far as I can tell - all achievements and all regular fish + rare variants). Played it in a single sitting with a short break for tea. It was absolutely wonderful, what a perfectly pitched experience
A lovely short adventure with lots of different activities to do and a wonderful charm to it. Some frustrating puzzle sections (think Lumo or anything from the isometric 8 bit days), but nothing that spoiled the game for me. Technically outstanding, with no noticeable frame rate dips or hitching (the game did crash once on resume though). Essentially no load times either. The whole thing took me about 6 hours / 3 days, and i ended up with an 87% completion. For me it was far better than some of the more celebrated equivalent titles like Minit. Strongly recommended as a palette cleanser.
Lovely Great music, great writing, totally immersive game. Gliding and climbing feel great, and there's a load of nods to Animal Crossing/Zelda throughout.
Enjoyed the battles and having to think about what I was going to do. The world's drag on for longer than I thought they should (I got really kinda burned out in the third world as I didn't like the way it looked). Probably would've been better with smaller world's, but more of them.
The last boss was challenging. Basically ended up super jumping around the stage with 2 characters left. Managed to take it down by doing that
Can I get a sequel with better stuff to do outside of battle? Please?
A real disgrace that it took me so long to beat this. Did the first two worlds Christmas 2018 and then got distracted by other games (including Tetris Effect). Binged the rest over the weekend. Among my favourite platformers ever made. Full of charm, great music, wonderful variety and the highest quality innovation.
