Careful mate, dont go making too many topics with polls...jsut say hi and comment in a few threads and make more as you go. Some people on here will get annoyed very quickly even though you are probably only being nice.

Hello. *waves* :D Welcome.

get it on wii! it has all bonus material found in the playstation version, and has awsome controls with the remote/nunchuck (also if you dont get on with the wii controlls you can use a gamecube controller) :D , it truly is one of the best games out IMO and has a great story, (im playing it as we speak) 8-)

Probably the Wii version is best. Gamecube second. PS2 a sorry third.

Wii.
Better controls
Cut scenes all in real-time (unlike on PS2 where they're pre-rendered)
PS2 bonus content with better visuals
Proper good lighting from GCN version (see: thunder storm lightning around Pueblo's church)
No foliage cuts as was in the PS2 version

I voted Gamecube.

It's the only one I've played.

Wii hands down, because it does everything the GC one does and more!

PLAY | Persona 3 Reloaded [3h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S3, HiJack S1, Red Dwarf S4, Dexter S2
RACE | Chew Valley 10k (June), GNR (Sept), Cardiff Half (Oct)

Wii all the way in my opinion, followed by GC and PC/PS2.

For all the ridicule the PC version gets it is not without its benefits. There are a number of patches that increase the texture resolution and make the menu screens HD which is nice. More impressively is the 'mod' that puts in HDR lighting, motion blur, depth of field and character lighting. While the level geometry and lighting engine are sadly taken from the vastly inferior PS2 port these mods and patches can make the game quite pretty.

Of course there's also the ability to have ada and Ashley run around dressed in goth/school girl attire if one was so inclined.

I have played all versions:

Wii is the best one out of the four.

If it even comes out on the 360, I'll buy that! :fp:

The Wii version includes GC controller support, so you can play it exactly like the GC version if you want. It's also cheaper, has widescreen support and more extras than the GC version.

There is only one version to pick up if you're playing it today, but apart from the PC version (Unless you want to mod it up) no version is bad.

RE4 Wii is the smoothest most intuitive shooter I've ever played. The screen got a little dark at times, but I think it was the fault of my TV.

Wii version all the way. It has all the extra content found in the PS2 version, the lush graphics of the Gamecube version and the amazing controls of the Wii. Anyone that says otherwise is completely insane.

Wii Version is the ultimate, featuring all the benefits of the previous editions in one neat little package with platform specific improvements. It is no exaggeration to say that high-scores in RE4: Mercenaries doubled practically overnight after the Wii version was released.

So I'm going to say the Gamecube version, just to annoy people.

Nah, the only reason you'd choose GC or PS2 versions is simply a matter of hardware costs. If you have access to a PS2 already and just want to play it, the other two versions are more than "good enough".

Didn't they actually patch in many of the missing effects later, too? I'm not sure how that version shaped up "post patch".
