Console yourself with a proper sausage.

Never! Unless we're talking metaphorical sausage.

I had some wild boar sausages once they were delicious.

Best ones i ever had. Pork with plum and mulled wine.

I bought six of these from a local butcher. Sneakily put them in the oven. The smell brought everyone in the house running. Had to share them all. Bastards!
They were immense.

Whoa, there! You did them in the oven? That is heresy! Sausages should be fried, or at the very least grilled.

My cousin's a pork and beef farmer, and she makes her own. Bloody fantastic.

Also, I've got a craving for merguez, but can't find anywhere that sells them. I may resort to buying them online.

I had some, and I wasn't too keen. They emitted an orange fluid, much like you'd get from a bolognese sauce when washing up.

Another butcher fanboy here.

But really they are much better. High meat content, nice flavour from herbs and sometimes spices and they are made with high quality meat. You could go for the free range ones or even the rare breed meat varieties but I don't think they taste much better to be honest.

NO QUORN.
