Probably about ten go twelve hours.

I thought it was a great game, and I really got in to it, but I wouldn't say it's a great "open world" game.

The game world itself was astounding and I was invested it its characters and environments. But I don't feel like it was necessarily a great "open world". It impressed in its scope, but often I was just travelling between places.

The little scenes you stumbled across were nice touches, though hard to actively go looking for. Helped add little stories to the game world though.

There's a lot of content and I probably stick 60-70 hours in just doing the main quests and the side quests, but I largely didn't do any of the extra optional stuff. I'd get distracted by a Stranger quest or incident dot on the map (though the latter got ignored by the end) but didn't bother with the hunting or the myriad of collectibles on offer. There was no incentive to do so, and I think that's why the game ever so slightly failed on the open world front.

Some of that is the fault of the games many systems - stamina, health, horse health, clothing, ammo upgrades etc - and that upgrades never really added or changed the games in meaningful ways, but I would have liked it to all tie together a little neater.

I was often just going from mission to mission, way point to waypoint and, while the beautiful game world still made this quite an experience, I think it gets a lot of plaudits for its scope and visuals rather than as a playground.

Can I finally reveal that I've known about this since May now? One of my insider  friends told me and I've been waiting for the the official announcement like strawberry floating Cassandra ever since

I bought the Deluxe Edition on Xbone for something like £70-£80 on release.

Haven't even finished the game :fp:

New PC trailer, 4k 60fps.

That does look incredible.

I absolutely love the game. Just completed another playthrough, and now I've started RDR1 straight after, to continue the story.

That’s the way it is....

Stunning game, hopefully next generation will upgrade the base game like the enhanced consoles did.

Still haven't completed this game and don't think I am even halfway through it. The game simply does not have the addictive nature of say, The Witcher 3 and is pretty damn boring. Technically it is a right up there with the best, but the controls are rubbish and the missions are just so boring. Even the story is pretty rubbish. I am very surprised that this game got more than 7/10 in most reviews, really surprised. It doesn't help that the PS4 Pro goes into full jet engine mode when I load this game up too. How is it on the Xbox One X in terms of noise?

I thought RDR2 have an excellent story. Some bits have me bemused as I was trying to be like a good guy and the missions ask you to kill a lot of lawmen.

I hear the Xbox version is so quiet that it actually lowers ambient room volume so there is negative volume.

Any new players to this? Picked up yesterday on PC and very impressed so far (just got to chapter 2 and new camp)

Any tips for new players? Cant decide whether to plow through story or side quests. Is there a good point to leave the story and go do your own thing?

You can do whatever you wanted once you’ve set up camp. But do drop in regularly and contribute to the camp kitty also some side quests are handed out by your pals there (often fetch quests) and is highly missable (by progressing the main story.)

But other than that you can explore as much you can.
