Bloody rockstar. Like they don't have the resources to release it for the PC at the same time.

I also am concerned about microtransactions.

If buying shark cards counts, then R* are basically making more money than they could spend via microtransactions

Aye, that in game cc thing I was aware of. I don't like it, but if they kept it to that sort of thing in RDR2 (i.e. online), I would be okay with it.

I'm excited for the game, but quite upset that I'm not posting in a NickSCFC thread :(

He's slipping.

I will keep opening post updated as we go.

What time will the trailer be releasing in the UK? I am thinking around 3 PM. Is that right?

No deal until it comes out on PC.

I really didn't gel with RDR. It was great an all, but something about the tone of it just didn't sit with me. I remember some stunning snapshot moments, seeing a train for the first time, crossing into Mexico, but the usual Rockstar thing of making whacky characters who swear a lot just didn't jive with the setting.

IMO.

Because of this news, I went and fired up my PS3 and download the first Redemption game (along with the Undead Nightmare add on) that I brought years ago on a sale.

I never got on with the game initially. And the second time... and the third time... and the fourth time... and goddamn knows how many retries... I'm finally warming up to it.

It's just a matter of wait and see if I will actually play it much longer and actually finish the damn game.

There are a few minor issues but I hope that Rockstar will improve the gameplay mechanics a lot more for this RDR.

They also spoke reel eloquent, like.

Seriously, some of the dialogue was great. I wish they'd have gone full Al Swearengen. I'd have understood 5% of what was being said, but I'd have loved hearing every uttered syllable of it.

A third party game is very unlikely to be included with a launch console.

Urgh.

It was the whackiness. Every thing just felt...Rockstar. There's no other way I can express it. Every character was Flanderised to the point of ridiculousness except Marston. It was the extremely broad parodying of American culture from the GTA games, transplanted onto a beautiful, atmospheric wild west world. It just felt wrong to me.

Good answer! But I would say that the Xbox One S is a revision of the Xbox One and not a new console.

I get you. I enjoyed RDR up until Mexico, but even then I also found that Rockstar "whackyness" a bit hard to deal with. They did the same with GTAV too, the characters became annoying parodys.

A console revision usually means the features would be same as the original.

Don't the X Box One S have some features that isn't on the original one? Like 4K playback? And by logic, Scorpio shouldn't be branded as a new console. It's just a revision?

Anyway, thanks Super Dragon 64. :toot:

Also, I get the feeling that MCN's version of the wild west is Deadwood. However:

Jesse Sheidlower, the American editor of the Oxford English Dictionary and the scholar of cussing who wrote The F-Word, says probably not. Not that frontiersmen were genteel. “There were cursing contests when cowboys would get together and insult each other,” he says. But “the evidence that we have is that they were using more religious blasphemy than the sexual insults which are popular today.” And on the show
