I'm.going to assume this was sarcastic as that whole bit was gorgeous but totally linear and really frustrating. You couldn't move for people coming after you so the only option was the missions.

I'm back on the mainland now though and I've got to head back to shady belle.

Damn that whole section was non stop. I've just gone to saint Denis and got bad aids it would seem. Dutch is saying something about money. Again. I'm avoiding his mission for as long as possible becuase I don't fancy going for a cup of tea and then inevitably murdering the population of a small country.

The hot air balloonmission was fun.

I'm still at just under 60% STORY progress

Starting to get a bit bored of this now. Currently at 70% story progress so I might just do a load of missions to move it on a bit more.

Just finished the story

strawberry float :( You knew it was coming but damn if that last ride to camp with the music playing didn't choke me up. Currently doing the first John mission.

Not totally done with it yet, but an incredible achievement for any media form, let alone games. Easily one of the best, possibly the best game, I've ever played.

I'm still at about 55% complete, might have to just start doing the actual missions now instead of pissing about with my own narratives :slol:

Finished everything story-wise this weekend. What a ride. Absolutely loved transitioning into playing as John. Such a welcome change of pace after the (very enjoyable) depressathon of the last 10-20hrs with Arthur. Good to see that there was a sense of positive hope with John's story, though the credit scenes bring home his inevitable fate in RDR1.

I think I'll now focus on some exploration of the area beyond Blackwater. I'm not sure, but it looks like you can go into some of the places from RDR1 like Armadillo and beyond? I'm hoping that there are more fully fledged stranger missions to make it worthwhile.

For trophy/achievement hunters amongst you it may be prudent to know that you should do your companion camp collectable quests as soon as you can while you're in chapters 1-4 as the opportunities disappear later in the game. You need 5 for the trophy/achievement. Unfortunately I didn't and this trophy now evades me

Regarding the trophy going back to the start and getting 5 done early in the game is not a massive task, especially compared to some of the other trophies.

Would be a chore but nothing compared to leveling up to level 50 in that sorry excuse for an online mode "beta"

I've not even looked at online, both in the game or media reviews. Is it like early days GTA online where there's sod all to do?

Got it in one, in fact a lot of stuff that's in the SP is stripped out entirely (robberies, gambling) I'd say considering they've had the learning experience in GTA Online this is far worse. It's a Beta is often the excuse used but doesn't really wash when your talking about a £60 games that is 6 months old for me.

I am also completely unaware of the online aspects of this. Not interested in it in the slightest, good or bad.

I was tempted to actually try the online out, having enjoyed the main game more than GTA V (which was fun, just in a very throwaway sense, where RDR 2 stays with you a little bit more).

But having read up on it, it seems like I'd be better freeing up the space on my hard drive and working on my backlog. I never really liked GTA online from the little I played of it - it seemed like they'd just left you in the city to make your own fun with the driving and shooting mechanics, and added some perfunctory games that were hardly a great way to while away an evening.

I'm right at the end of the game now

met up with Charles in saint Denis and we're back at John's place having pulled his house down
.

Can anyone tell me if I can go back to the game world after the credits roll to finish off challenges? Or is it proper game over then.

You can continue beyond the credits.

Also, you might be surprised by how many missions you have left, I'm sure the entire epilogue is like 20% of the whole main story.

I noticed, I cleared the first one and I'm still only on 84% story completion

Also incredible that the entire map from the first game is in there.
