There's no hole inside me.

I just see you acting all superior to everyone and made a comment that looking down on people might be the reason you're struggling. You seem to be completely unaware that women can do whatever they bloody like, if they are into wine and Netflix then that's their business.

Maybe if you cut out your "I'm such an intellectual" shtick, you'd get better advice.

Of course they can do what they like but I'm allowed to criticize people's behaviour, especially when it's incongruous with their stated goals, and especially when they post in on a public platform, I just found it funny.

Do you ever consider maybe I just like to vent on a message board and that's all it is? I'm not asking for advice

And even if I was you weren't trying to be helpful, you were making a snyde comment to make yourself feel good

Fade, maybe tinder isn't for you.

Have you tried bumble or hinge, they encourage more detailed profiles, might help.

That could work on a Tinder bio.

Do you think this is conducive to actually getting what you want, i.e. a relationship? Dismissing an entire town full of people as shallow or incongruous is you making a massive generalisation based on the very small amount of information people are willing to put on a dating app.

It's probably better to ditch those dating things for a bit. You've just came out of a relationship (or are in the process of ending one). Take a bit of time out.

A bit of tough love is in order here but there's no need to get cruel with it. Moggy and Errkal, I think you've gone too far.

Fade, remember that these women are under the same sort of pressure you've mentioned (e.g. the feeling that you need to be cisgender, muscular etc). Undoubtedly it is a socially acceptable cool thing to state that you love drinking wine and watching Netflix. Most of them probably genuinely do, so of course they're going to advertise it. It's a bright peacock feather in a contemporary context. I bet most of them also have plenty of other interests and hobbies that they (possibly correctly) are worried could turn off a chunk of potential matches, so haven't chosen to advertise them on their bio.

A lot of people will surprise you if you give them the chance, and sometimes in a good way! Don't pay much attention to what you see on a bio. It'll barely scratch the surface.

Sure, but there's a nice way to do it and a shitty way to do it. I have Moggy on ignore because he always chooses the shitty way.

There's also a big difference between taking a direct dig at someone and venting on a forum where the people you're talking about are not ever going to read it.

Judging by the responses people definitely took my post a bit too seriously, I know everyone on these sites aren't the same, but when you use it for a while you notice patterns and it's pretty fatiguing to read the same bios over and over.

Edit: it's not worth it and probably is too cruel. I'll leave the last part of the post below though.

As you have me on ignore, feel free to ignore me btw (I am only back here because of the notification when you quoted a post of mine). I'm happy to ignore you in future if you're not talking about me/quoting me.

if you are after a love island sort of girl then sure, but I would hazard a guess you aren’t

drop the expectations on them too and treat each person on their merits innit

by merits I of course means booba and bootyhole

Well what a a life changing year or so it has been since the wife and I separated and then being thrown into lockdown.

The wife and I continue to maintain a friendly relationship, so much so that we're even taking the kids to London this August to visit the Harry Potter Museum and take a trip on the Thames Horrible Histories Tour, (we had original booked to go and see the musical Wicked, but that's been cancelled until September). Wife and kids are currently camping in Cornwall and while invited I was unable to get the time off work due to others having already booked the time for that period and staff shortages. I will be going with them to the Caravan in Weymouth later this year.

I no longer drink or smoke, I've lost two stone and I've begun playing my guitar again, (lockdown gave me an opportunity to go from 20 year dabbler to more serious guitar player, gotten pretty good actually). I still enjoy the odd video game, but they have taken a back seat. Mentally I've never been clearer, and more focussed, (as an added bonus this is annoying the hell out of my bigot of a boss because he knows he doesn't phase me any more, not for lack of trying of course!). So yes, all in all life is actually pretty good. Best of all my relationship with my children has become that much stronger and they know between their mum and me they're loved and cared for and always will be.

So yeah, peace and all that jazz.

You're not meant to kill them.

Maybe that's why you're single.

"everytime I get close to a woman, they just turn into ghosts..."

An M Knight Shayamalan style thriller about a sensitive man who tells his therapist about how women keep "ghosting him". The whole thing is filmed in the therapists office except the final horrifying scene where you discover what he meant by ghosting.

Dear Hollywood, aayl1 and I would like £50,000 up front plus 2% net profit please.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:
