Yeah, even if you did absolutely nothing towards moving on, starting afresh etc. you can always be confident that time will heal a lot of the pain just by itself. Your "new normal" now, will just become "normal", and you'll cope. It'll be painful for many months, I'm sure, but that pain will ease.

Also at least you can be content that you gave it your all fixing things and that due to your wife's stubbornness and fixatedness, there was likely nothing more to be done. To be blunt, it quite frankly sounds like she didn't deserve the effort and anguish you were putting in.

Now we all need to think of a great new username for you...

Thanks guys, today has been strawberry floating gooseberry fool, had to deal with some kids bullying my 7 year old and then taking my daughter to the doctors to try and get some advice on her lack of sleeping.

Went into the office as I can't sit and work from home. I have sat myself well away from everyone though, so I can at least be left alone.
