Many dinosaurs were kind of hairy but you've got me with rhinos -- but I reckon a woolly mammoth or a wild boar would still put me off.

That was my understanding, but then I don't think a rhino would count as a scalie? A t-rex likely would, depending on your school of thought regarding feathered dinosaurs.

Does this mean she would need to get dressed up as the animal she was imitating? Like, how full on do people go with fursona’s?

In the case of the person I had a date with there fersona was a wolf they had a different name when they were the wolf and a big costume that covers them from head to foot a bit like a mascot, they showed me pictures... It was a very weird weird date for lots of reasons, one the furrie part another they told me they had another date the following day and they'd date the one of us she liked best.

I sat through the whole date as I'm a polite person so wouldn't walk or sneak out of one but I told them later I didn't think we were compatable so good luck on your next date.

Yep I found that weird and really it was over from then on, I was just being polite and waiting it out , I knew it was a no from me whatever was said/happened after that.

I think you made the right choice as if you had left right there and then, they might catch on that it's not a good thing to say for future dates.
