We didn't do engagement rings. My wedding ring cost 12 euros, hers 35. We genuinely didn't give a gooseberry fool about any your typical trappings. Not to disparage anyone who is! Friend of mine blew 20 grand on her big day and loved it.

We found a ring for £400 (morganite) but decided to blow the cash on a fancy hotel for our elopement. My wedding ring was £150 because it was the only one in rose gold they had in the shop that was serving beers at 10am.

I’m still expecting my engagement ring at some point as a nice gift. Not in a hurry because we’re already married but I just like it.

My mrs' is morganite too. Wee bit more expensive than yours but not stupidly so. Wedding ring is a matching piece but again, not stupidly dear.

I also got a morganite ring, although of course it had to be surrounded by diamonds .

Edit - that face was supposed to be :fp: !

Bought my missus an engagement ring, I don't know, 14 or so years ago, was about £50, and, well we still haven't gotten married. It's funny, my mother used to nag about us actually getting married. Since she passed away in February, me and the other half seem even less bothered about actually getting married. I dunno, we feel like it wouldn't be right without her (or my gran (her nan) who passed away 2 years ago) not being there.

I want the diamond halo style too, but they’re so tiny it makes the stone pure cheap and nobody will notice clarity on something so small surrounding the bigger peach stone.

I'm not even sure how to answer that  it was from the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, custom made white gold diamond encrusted band with a halo of diamonds and a large morganite stone in the middle.

Ah nice! I was wondering because the one I got was encrusted with chocolate diamonds and was made by Le Vian - I wasn't sure too many other companies have done diamond encrusted morganite rings and wondered if we'd gone to the same place, but apparently not. :slol:

It was pretty hard tracking down any morganite at all. I wasn't complaining, though, as it's what she wanted and I knew it'd bring the overall price down a lot!

Right GR, how important is (or how much importance would put into) the 3rd date?

Been out with that girl from work twice now (just went for a drink the first time, drink and then cinema second) we get on well and after the second she suggested we have a day out together so we can have a chance to really talk and stuff.

Anyway, that day out is this Saturday, we are going to head down the seafront as the weather is nice and go for a walk along the beach, thinking maybe go along the pier and do some fun stuff then take her for lunch/dinner.

This being the 3rd time we will go out together i’m sort of taking this as the ‘will this be something or won’t it’ type of day out. She must be at least slightly interested to suggest having a day out together but she’s really hard to read.

Am I thinking too much into it? How much importance do y’all place in a 3rd date?

No more than I would the first or second. She obviously likes you or is quite interested if you’ve made it this far. Just relax, it’ll be fine.

I’m looking forward to leaving Belgrade next weekend, had a lass I’ve been dating almost a few months now who is absolute insanity in bed but is wrecking my head like someone hasn’t in years. Had enough of it now.

If she is up for a third date then she obviously likes you. That doesn't mean wedding bells just yet, but it shows there is interest.

Don't overthink it, just be yourself, have fun and see what happens.

She would be going if she didn’t like you. Just chill and enjoy the day. If it turns into something’s cool, if not gooseberry fool happens.

At the end of the third date she'll present you with the Winnowing Bell. If she rings it thrice it means you may accompany her in the dance of the Matriculate (good). If the bell sounds an extra time it is a signal her father is of good character. Another and you can expect her dowry to be fat with riches.

If, however, it rings only the two times (or even once should the night end on a waxing third quarter moon) you must touch your left flank to the ground in penitence and make quick your exit, for she has deemed you not fitting of her grace.
