Some weeks ago my laptop stopped working. Only some of the music had been backed up.

As I don't want to spend money on a device to connect the two HDD, I want to transfer the music on my iPhone over to my new laptop.

Any easy and free ways to do this? Is there some way I can somehow open my iPhone like any other USB storage device and just copy the files over?

Connect the iPhone to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (if you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the sidebar via control-S), and then use the Music tab on the right-hand side to select and sync the music that you want to computer so that you can transfer songs from iPhone to PC.

I've got a similar question that i'll just hijack this thread for. I've taken off all of the music from my iPhone bar one album now i've got Spotify. The Music app still lists all the artists that were on there, but it doesn't let me play any of them because i've taken them off. When I plug it in to my PC it only shows the one album on there that I wanted to have. Anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of the left over's on the phone? I've updated both my phone and PC and it's still doing the same thing.

I see iPhones still won't let you drag and drop music straight to a folder :fp:
