Never got into them, but i saw them at my first Galstonbury and had a great time.

Expect the morons to buy their albums by the armful Winehouse style

I've been purchasing there back catalogue as it's been getting re-released. I do prefer there early years. Radio Free Europe. Does anyone know if there entire back catalogue is being released as the deluxe editions are incredible

The only danger if that comes to pass, is that Bono then decides to run for Pope or Chairman of the UN. See how sometimes things could get actually worse?

I think its just the IRS albums that are available as deluxe, the deluxe version of murmur is just superb.

Me too. It was the first REM song I heard I think - in about 1991 when our family got its first CD player (and a load of random albums including Out Of Time and Faith No More's The Real Thing).

REM were a brilliant band that covered pretty much all the bases musically over the years. Records like UP (1998) and Reveal (2001) are underrated gems. Last but one Accelerate (2008) is a brilliant rock record as well. That is just the lesser known modern stuff and their older back catalogue is probably the best of any band of their generation.

For me I respect they way they are ending things: it's all very REM.
