I think the UK and May deserve a hell of a lot of credit to be honest for voting against the US, while the likes of Canada, Australia and Mexico chose to abstain.

Indeed. I think we all know why Mexico abstained but Australia and Canada should know better.

If Trump thinks he can just order countries to change long standing positions just because he says so I think he's about to find he's going to be defeated at every turn. He seemingly has no idea that the rest of the world will just wait until a less batshit mental person is in charge of the US and then global diplomacy can get back on track.

I'm shocked that the UK actually voted against, I though for sure we'd abstain at best.

Same here, glad to see we have a moral backbone.

The US should also receive a resolution for their threatening response.

I suppose it'd be too much to hope for sanctions to be leveled against Trump and the GOP leadership? :shifty:

Following on from the US position being that Israel's capital is Jerusalem not Tel Aviv, it would be interesting to see Trump acknowledge Taiwan as a sovereign country.

She's apparently now buddying up with the Polish fascists so she's not that moral.

Would that be before or after the war with China. I doubt Trump really cares about Taiwan. He only acknowledged Jerusalem as the capital because of his right wing Christian allies.

There wouldn’t be a war, after the UN vote yesterday the US took down all the names of those that voted against them. Nobody will ever defy the USA ever again.

I think part of the problem in the US anyway is that most news anchors are overly polite and while they will show clips of politicians contradicting themselves they rarely if ever go in for the kill the same way some people on UK news do.
They don't have a Paxman who's ready to hand out verbal beatings because they fear the guest will never come back so even the most pressing interview is rather tame.

Maybe Trump thinks he's Santa and he's just working out which countries get presents this year?

Trump's UN Ambassador Is Throwing The Most Petty Party Ever

You know who's not invited to the party? The UK, Japan, and France. But that's okay, Togo is set to bring the noise.

So is Trump saying we have to agree with him on everything or we're somehow not friends any more?
If so then he's got no idea how diplomacy works.

All he's ever had in business is yes men, he literally doesn't know that people might actually disagree with him...
