I wouldn't take what is coming out of America or Russia at face value. It really doesn't mean a damn thing any more. They could be on the same page, they may not. I guess only time will tell.

As a firm Trump supporter, I say, yes, the pictures were horrible, but I'm surprised. Whatever Assad's sins, he is secular. Previous interventions in the Middle East have made things worse rather than better.

One downside to attacking Syria overnight for Trump is that it rather detracts from the biggest success of his Presidency. Gorusch has just been confirmed to the Supreme court, but it's not going to generate too many headlines today.

The way i see this is that US isn't going to do anything else unless they believe Syria uses chemical weapons again.

It does however make a mockery though of all the claims that Putin is controlling Trump.

Assad is nothing but a convenient pawn for Putin, one he's helping out as a means to get at the West. Putin has gotten what he wanted out of the Syrian conflict (the arrival of refugees possibly ousting governments opposed to him), and so now he'd rather help Trump out, even if it means hurting his relationship with Assad. Either that, or Trump made this move in the hope that the public sees it like you do. His base will (y'know, the ones who didn't believe the Russia connection to begin with), but people at large will take more convincing. Doubly so FBI, et al.
