I wonder why all the Bible-thumping Americans even bother taking out health insurance. Surely just praying to God and sunny Jesus will cure all of their afflictions?

Actually on second thought best take out that policy...

Did he die?

It would be funny if he died.

It revolves around the completely unfounded belief that injecting competition into anything will make it better (rather than mutualism and cooperation) and public is always worse than private. The market is the supreme arbiter of worth in their eyes. Fortunately, only in America has it become crazy enough and the 'market' worshipped with such religious fervour that people accept it dictating whether people live or die. You don't have to be a socialist to see that this is a crazy and extreme ideology.

Born with a lifelong condition? Sorry, the market says you are not profitable enough to deserve proper medical care. On the bright side, you will die free. Better than living a long and healthy life under the evil thumb of universal healthcare right?

The sad thing is we've been through this before, the whole laissez-faire movement in the 1800's which insisted that the best way for the world to function was with companies that had as little government oversight as possible, as they definitely wouldn't do unscrupulous things just because there was no one watching! It was a complete disaster, and because of that we saw the rise of unions and workers rights.

Rights which were very hard won and now these people at the top are somehow convincing the people who used to work for them that the best thing for them is to give up their workers rights (in favour or rights to work obviously) while simultaneously exporting their jobs to third world countries that never had these rights in the first place.

It's almost like they're doing it to spite them! First we will get rid of their rights, then we will fire them anyway! Oh and of course we will convince them that their job moving to wherever is a good thing because it means the free market is working well. :dread:

To be fair if Obama wanted to make Trump destroy himself, using reverse-psychology would be an effective method.

It's amazing to see so many Americans vote against unionisation (the recent Boeing vote was a prime example) as they see any form of grouping up to get better terms from a company as somehow unAmerican. They've been completely brainwashed into thinking the company should have 100% power to set everything and if a company wants to give you shitty or no benefits (just stuff you don't need like holidays, decent pay, sickness benefit's/healthcare coverage, Maternity/paternity and pensions) and they think individuals should do this as if somehow everyone is a master negotiator.

It's similar to when you see people saying they can't live on a minimum wage job because the minimum wage in the area hasn't risen with inflation for 30 years so is now a joke and the typical conservative argument is that they should get a better job without thinking that the reason they have a minimum wage job is that's all that's available in the local area to which conservatives just say "Move to a better area" as if everyone can just move on a whim because they don't have anything holding therm in place like kids at school, family members who require care (who conservatives also don't give a gooseberry fool about as they will yank their healthcare away as they're obviously moochers) or just don't have the financial ability to just move.

Honestly, trying to argue with US conservatives is about as fun as taking a sonic boom to the balls while someone smacks you round the back of the head with a pool cue and then teabags you.

If they want Trump to destroy himself just shut down Twitter.
I honestly think you'd see him start crying on camera if they did as he pleads for its return.

Senate Russia investigators have sent a request to the Treasury Department's criminal investigation division for any information related to President Donald Trump, his top officials and his campaign aides, the top Democrat on the Senate intelligence committee told CNN Tuesday.

"We've made a request, to FinCEN in the Treasury Department, to make sure, not just for example vis-a-vis the President, but just overall our effort to try to follow the intel no matter where it leads," Sen. Mark Warner told CNN. "You get materials that show if there have been, what level of financial ties between, I mean some of the stuff, some of the Trump-related officials, Trump campaign-related officials and other officials and where those dollars flow -- not necessarily from Russia."

FinCEN is the federal agency that has been investigating allegations of foreign money-laundering through purchases of US real estate.
The news comes just a few days after the revelation that Senate investigators sent broad-based requests for documents to four key potential witnesses in their probe: former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former national security adviser Michael Flynn, former adviser Roger Stone and former foreign policy adviser Carter Page.

Warner added that until the Treasury Department responds with documents, that he will withhold his support for Trump's nominee to oversee terrorism and financial at the Treasury Department, Sigal Mandelker.

"Chairman Burr and I requested that information -- until we get it, I'm not going to support the administration's nominee for undersecretary of Treasury finance, for terrorism and finance, because they owe us these documents first," Warner said.

Warner did not specify what documents exactly that investigators are hoping to find or who exactly they asked about in their request. CNN has reached out to the White House for comment and have not yet gotten a response.

It's like Trump thinks he can sidestep any legal ramifications for his actions just by handing out threats and firing people.

Holy sh^t! How blatant is this? Attorney General who had to recuse himself from FBI investigation into trumps ties with the Russians recommends the Head of the FBI be fired and Trump agrees. Holy gooseberry fool!

You can't be an intelligent person and vote republican right now, it's simply not possible.
