I saw yesterday jobless numbers are down 3.9%, the lowest they've been since 2000...

He's getting a second term isn't he :dread:

It’s 50/50 on whether he gets a second term or goes to jail.

He may get a second term but I think he's going to be pretty much pointless as he'll lose both the house and senate.
I think this will trigger a impeachment which he will somehow muddle through hugely damaged to anyone but his ultra-loyal fanbase and by the start of his second term it will be obvious he can get strawberry float all done but he'll cling on just because his ego can't accept that for the benefit of the country he should leave.
This will lead to 4 years of US political stagnation and then a complete collapse of the Republican party as the ultra loyalist Trump republicans get into an all out war with the moderates and all of them ending up being voted out in 2024.
This may then create room for a 3rd party option as the Democrats somehow fail to capitalise on this.

Trump as a political force is pretty much done.

Trump only gets a second term if the Democrats nominate someone as hated as Trump.

A Biden/Gillibrand or Harris ticket would be great to see, TBH.

Even if high knife crime was linked to handgun ban, surely it's still better than replacing it with gun crime instead?

We're now conducting international diplomacy via Fox and Friends. What a time to be alive

Can't wait for Trump to die, then maybe we can get back to some semblance of normality.

The mid-terms are going to be a bloodbath for Republicans and we'll finally see them starting to oppose Trump and his insanity.
Obviously this will mean they will have to go against Fox news but they'll have a choice of support Trump and Fox news and likely lose or oppose Trump and Fox and stand a chance.

You forget one thing: we live in literally the worst timeline. The Dems will find a way to strawberry float it up and hand Trump a win, mark my words.

That is a distinct possibility and the inability of the Dems to completely destroy a President as poor as Trump just show how bad they are and how polarised US politics has become and the total lack of use republicans have for the truth.
If a UK politician did even 1/10th of what Trump has they wouldn't be anywhere near any sort of office as the scandals would be endless and we don't have entire TV stations dedicated to burying bad news and championing politicians.

Boris Johnson’s racism (and his career in general!) and Theresa May’s Windrush scandal show that our politicians can get over 1/10th of Trump.

The special elections all point to a blue wave.
The Generic Congressional Ballot indicates a toss-up.

There's an enormous amount of uncertainty about the midterms right now. I feel like the House will flip blue, I feel like the Democrats will do very well in the Senate (as in, not losing very many seats), but frankly it's impossible to know right now.

One thing is certain and that's that Fox news will do all they can to try and claim any result no matter how bad is a win for Trump.
I really am glad we don't live in a country where the TV news is just so obviously and unashamedly biased.

He's trying to play it like North Korea, except the deal has already been struck, so I expect him to say that the deal's off. In the coming weeks and months, we'll see him ratcheting up the tensions.

The world will despair, and I don't know that Iran will react the way he thinks it will. North Korea has a peace-driven South Korean leader, Iran has nobody except, maybe, Erdogan? Not that he's any friend to the west, or indeed peace.

I think we're about to watch as Trump pushes Iran and Turkey into what will become a rock solid alliance. That's bad news for the west.
