It's the theatre, darlings.

The Newt has gone a step further and called it "hostility"...

The American school system back in the news again too as a teacher, having clearly lost control, calls her class "Punk-ass n**gers who are gonna get shot"

If there's anyone that is not part of the elite establishment then it has to be the guy who literally lives at the top of a gold coloured tower with his name on.

If you have to shout like that at your class you've basically failed as a teacher. Also I'm a current trainee teacher and I have no sympathy for that kind of behaviour.

Hate, harassment incidents spike since Trump election

It ranges from swastikas at a baseball field and a playground to Pennsylvania high school students shouting “white power” in the hallway and a throwback to the days of segregation at a high school bathroom in Northern California.

“I can’t explain to you what it feels like to come to a campus that I’ve loved for four years and not feel safe,” said one student.

According to new numbers from the FBI, hate crimes were up almost 7 percent in 2015. That includes a 67 percent jump in crimes against Muslims.

When the racial tension continued even after Election Day, Lesley Stahl asked President-elect Trump about it on “60 Minutes”. In response, Trump said, “I am so saddened to hear that. And I say, ‘Stop it.’ If it-- if it helps. I will say this, and I will say right to the cameras: Stop it.’”

“We’re extremely pleased to hear those two words,” said the Anti-Defamation League’s Deborah Lauter. “We would encourage President-elect Trump to continue to send that message.”

Lauter said she hopes the harassment will begin to subside.

“This is such a unique period in this country’s history, so I don’t have precedent to say it will go down,” Lauter said.

And it’s not just crimes against minorities.

Four people were arrested in Chicago after an attack on a Trump supporter, during which “You voted Trump! You voted Trump!” was shouted.

On Friday, Attorney General Loretta Lynch encouraged all hate crime victims to continue to speak up.

“We need you to continue to report these incidents to local law enforcement as well as the Justice Department,” Lynch said.

Hate crime numbers for 2016 won’t be out until next year, and based on what they’ve seen so far, minority leaders expect to see another increase.

The president elect there getting into a spat and insulting an actor on twitter. He has since deleted the tweet. :fp: I like that it's gone from harassment to lecture in such a shot space of time. He can't even stick by his own lies.

This is going to be an entertaining 4 years of this.

He's so thin skinned. He seems to fester on everything, even the most inconsequential of things...which was Richard Branson's view when he actually met him.

The biggest worry isn't his relationship with Putin. It's when they have a falling out.

I thought that talk from the theatre cast was incredibly patronising. That's the sort of thing that makes the political opposition to Trump just appear annoying.

Having said that, Trump needs his twitter taken away but it is amusing to see a US president get into a Twitter war at least!

The entire tone of it, and the fact that they took the opportunity to call him out and urge people to tweet and record it. They absolutely knew what they were trying to do which was to publicly embarrass the guy. Now I don't agree with much of what Pence has to offer politically, but the progressives need to be building alliances and not continuing to push their divisive identity politics. That style of politics utterly failed during the election.

Now that doesn't excuse Trumps hissy fit on Twitter either, that also continues to push division. It's helpful to nobody.

Trump is pure identity politics. The identity in question is whiteness.

I can just imagine trump sitting in some important meetings in the White House and everyone sits there saying 'mr president we need you to discuss the situation in Syria' and he's just sat there arguing with someone on twitter.

Pence ended up watching the whole show but as he was about to leave the theater at the end of the curtain call a member of the cast called him back.

Brandon Dixon, who plays vice-president Aaron Burr, stepped forward and took out a piece of paper.

He thanked the audience for seeing the show, then said: “Vice-president Mike Pence, I see you walking out, but I hope you will hear us, just a few moments.”

As some quiet boos emanated from the audience as it began to disperse, Dixon hushed the audience and delivered a message.

“There is nothing to boo here, ladies and gentlemen, we are sharing a story of love,” he said.

He continued: “Mike Pence, we welcome you here. We are the diverse Americans who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents.”

Many of the remaining audience began to cheer softly as Dixon, who is African American, pointed towards Pence.

“Or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights … we hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us,” he continued, to rising cheers.

“We thank you for sharing this wonderful American story, told by a diverse group of men and women of different colors, creeds and orientations,” he concluded.

That's annoying and patronising? When you look at the views held by Pence then it's actually astonishing how warm and friendly that is.

What makes me laugh is Trump's alt-right support love to call people "generation snowflake" and yet their new leader is offended by that statement from the cast of a musical?

Careful, he might invade them.

Sadly, it's legal:

Giuliani said financial conflict-of-interest "laws don't apply to the president, right? So, the president doesn't have to have a blind trust."

The president is, in fact, exempt from the primary conflict-of-interest provision in the U.S. code. So presidents do not have any legal obligation to put their financial holdings in a blind trust or to detach themselves from their financial interests in any way.

As president, Trump will have to comply with financial disclosure requirements, however, and he will not be able to take in any income from foreign governments.

We rate Giuliani’s claim True.

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter ... onflict-i/

The next Democratic president should change that gooseberry fool, because Trump is probably going to become a lesson in why even presidents should be subject to conflict laws.
