That other character was never in Resi 3 so I can see why people would be annoyed to have it spoiled. I don't think it's really a spoiler though, just a really cool reference to 2 and it's made me more excited to play it.

When its a video showing it happen, something I would have much preferred and loved to have seen first hand myself during my first play through, its a damn spoiler.

I;m not really arsed about this. Absolutely loved the Resi 2 remake but this demo didn't do much for me, and Nemesis doesn't feel as fun as Mr X. Having him be able to just jump and land in front of you, as well as the tentacle attack that can catch and drag you from range feels like it could get old fast.

I think I only ever played RE3 once so all of it is going to feel fresh.
MP mode or no, I’m not paying 50 wraps for it though.

Don’t get it digitally and it’s easy to get for sub-£40.

Regarding Nemesis not being as fun as Mr X, I never found Mr X particularly fun really, he doesn’t force you to behave differently enough to make any change in gameplay fun. On initial run throughs he was more of annoyance and then once I’d played through more than a few times he was just a meaningless distraction.

I don’t know what I’m hoping for from Nemesis really. I’m a bit worried he’ll just be Mr X on steroids and will prove even more frustrating. I guess there’s the chance he becomes what Mr X was always supposed to be, but never quite was for me. I’m looking forward to finding out.

I hope the game has a proper Hard Mode though because RE2’s is a bit of a joke.

Just finished my final double run through of RE2 before this comes out. In little over a year I must have beat it 30 times easy.

Despite picking up everything and not scumming the codes they were both pretty casual runs coming in around 10 hours combined (Leon A, Claire B). I think one of the lingering minor complaints I have with the game is that the two scenarios don’t map together in any logical way. But I guess that would have taken a whole bunch extra development time, I’m not even sure if they did originally.

Even after so many times playing it I still enjoy the way it’s setup as a little Rubik's cube that’s slightly different every time you solve it. There’s also a good deal of satisfaction just been able to stroll through it and get to the final boss, even on Hardcore, with absolutely masses of surplus ammo and piles and piles of unused full med packs.

If I get half the enjoyment out of RE3 as I did this then it’s going to be amazing.

They say the full game is only about 5 hours long, I've played the demo on Steam for over 7 hours :slol:

I can finish Resi 2 in a couple of hours comfortably but I've clocked well over a hundred in total and it's easily one of my favourite games ever, as well as my game of last year so length really isn't an issue.

My first run of Resi 2 took about 15 hours also.

First play through of 2 Remake was around 15 hours on PS4 then multiple run through's with both Leon and Clair and clocked in 45 hours on PC. Not bothered about 3 being shorter, absolutely love the demo and will no doubt have multiple play through's of the full game.

I'll be disappointed if a first run through is under 10 hours.

I loved resident 2 but I have very little interest in number 3. The Mr X parts of the first game were the most annoying parts of the first game to me so why play a whole game filled with it. I will happily play a new fps resident game please, but with zombies please.

IGN wrote:Like Resident Evil 2 before it, Resident Evil 3’s 2020 remake does an amazing job of recapturing the horror and tension of the late ‘90s original while completely modernizing its gameplay. It plays like a 2020 game because it is a 2020 game. The classic world is brought to life in glorious detail, and smart level design makes exploring it a delight and replaying it almost compulsory. If only all remakes could be this good; bring on the next one. 9/10

Game Informer wrote:With this remake, Capcom has greatly improved one of my least-loved entries in the series. Resident Evil 3’s greater focus on action affords you fewer opportunities to stop and think, but Jill's adventure is an incredible thrill ride. From the first moment that Nemesis burst through the wall and reached out with one of his tendrils, I felt my heart begin to race. I don’t think it slowed down again until the credits rolled. 9/10

Press Square wrote:Resident Evil 3 had the potential to better its classic predecessor, but a disappointing amount of cut content and the let down that is Nemesis hold it back from greatness. It's still an experience very much worth revisiting, with Raccoon City and the hospital receiving a lot of love and attention, however, it only makes us question what could have been that little bit more. 7/10

Gamespot wrote:As a remake, Resident Evil 3 not only falls short of honoring its source, but it also doesn't quite stick the landing as a standalone horror experience. Even without taking into account the original game, or its predecessor, RE3 struggles to keep up with its pace amid a clashing of elements from survival horror and standard action. While it has a strong start and gives its principal villain some great moments, this truncated retelling of the concluding game from the original Resident Evil trilogy doesn't do it proper justice. 6/10

Capcom proves once again that, when it comes to modern horror, it's the master. Resident Evil 3 is testament to the fact that a good horror game needs to be more than just scary, offering skilful urban level design, stunning visuals, a formidable foe – and lots and lots of zombies. If you liked the Resident Evil 2 remake then you're going to love Resident Evil 3.

Quite the mixed bag of reviews. Sounds like it could have done with another 4-6 months in development.

Time to bring back...

Wow, so it really is 5-6 hours long.

That really sucks. Gotta say, pretty disappointed by these review scores, only an 8.5 from Huber of EZA!

If I wasn't desperate for this after loving 2 I think I'd probably wait for a price drop.

I'm not sure why people were expecting it to be longer than 5.5 hours - the original is around that in a decent length run and Resi 2's campaign wasn't exactly epic-length.

Wow, reviews are all over the place. Shame as the original RE3 was my favourite out of the PS1 games. :(

Noticed something elsewhere but apparently (serious spoiler, probably)

There is no clock tower section in this

If that’s true I’d like to know their thinking / reason / logic behind it.

PS4 Pro still the one to go for in terms of framerate. Looks like the Xbox One demo was indicative after all, though I would expect both to be patched as the months go by.

Is there a list of all the cut content? The spoiler above seems like a big omission

I don't think it's fair to call it cut content when the game is a complete reworking of the original. It's all brand new. Resident Evil 2 had far less city action at the start of the game as the original but no one classed that as cut content.
