It was making it hard as I had no bag space for puzzle items and ive had a wooden board from somewhere really early. No idea where from either.

The wooden board is just for a map later on in the game.

I never found what to do with the board, where was the map?

Is it the one over the fireplace when you light it?

There's no way they're necessary for loading purposes in this day and age.

The door sequences is just a disguise for loading the next area.

C'mon son. That may have been true 20 years ago. These areas are just still images and low res ones at that, there is next to no loading required.

They're actually newly matte painted with more detail 1080p30 MP4 video sequences with realtime lighting and shadows, which means they have to be read off disk. Each one is is about 4-30 seconds long.

Very few of them are new, btw. Most rooms are clearly just upresed and very shoddy looking to be blunt. Guarantee they still don't need all this loading, though.

I always felt the door opening sequences added nicely to the tension of creeping around the mansion.

Yep, and how long do they actually take, about 8 seconds?

They're quicker loading screens than most modern games, I have no issue with them.

Son? I'm sure I'm older than you, sonny boy.

It's still a disguise for loading screens. Better than a wee loading spinning logo.

You strawberry floaters moaning about loading screens need to play ReCore, unpatched, then moan about a couple of seconds door opening animation :slol:

They should also add door animation to Fallout 4, the world's slowest opening doors.

Every single room has them, really annoying when you're backtracking.

Balls are they loading screens in this day and age

I think if they got rid of the door animations from RE and just had "live" doors that existed in the world and that anything could get through it'd just make the whole experience too mentally draining. You'd have to constantly be on guard in case a zombie shuffled through the door, whereas at least when you go into an empty room currently you know that you're safe there to compose yourself, change your trousers and take some green herbs.

There could be safe havens, maybe even in ways to board up a door to know that your safe but run the risk of that door being blocked if you come back later to it on the otherside. You then have to be aware at somepoint you may have to break down the door if something is chasing you. There are ways around it with a bit of thought.

In other words, man up Puzzy

You'd have still been on edge, boarding up a room only to find a hunter bash through while you're calmly organising your inventory? :dread:

The pull this stunt with Lisa Trevor in this very game!
