Are you telling me that I've been playing the game on easy? I thought the middle option was normal, while the top one is hard.

Hard isn't unlocked until you beat the game once.

First choices are:

* Normal
* Easy
* Very Easy

(In that descending order)

I found my normal run as Jill to be really difficult but I think that was just getting back into the swing of it. My first hard play as Chris, straight after, was immense. Knew what I was doing and had a blast. Once I finish my quick run with the samurai edge I'm going to try real survival. Surprisingly, I don't think I've ever given it a go.

That would explain why I couldn't even get past the 1st zombie in the gc version recently.

Lost all desire to play this because I've reached the part of the old school Resi games that I actively despise. The bit when you're down in the labs, always felt like the games just fall apart at that point.

I know but then I remember those stupid crawling thingies and having to walk from one end of the labs to the other with the fuel thing and I think "strawberry float it I'd rather play CS".

You can actually kill all of the chimeras, at least enough for you to clear tht room out with enough time to go get the fuel and go back without any trouble. Providing you have the ammo at least.

Finished my first play through with Jill.

Once More with Chris on Normal difficulty. :dread:

Got as far as getting Richard back to the safe room but I have no health packs left. :lol:

Need to finish my ghetto Chris game but I've ended up getting back into Resi 5.

Well I've finished it on Normal difficulty using Chris.

For some reason, it's much more easier once you clear out the zombies and burn them in the right places (safe rooms area and labs.) and it get easier towards the ending.

Think I'm going to give this game a break for now before tackling the 3 hour+no saves run.

Fortunately I already played through it back on Gamecube with a friend.

I don't think my girlfriend has ever played this. I wonder what she'll make of it, given the passage of time.

I tried playing Resi 2 when I was about 17 and it creeped me out too much (stupid zombie arms at the windows). I'm much more adverse to zombie stuff now so looking forward to this being up on PS Plus later. Always wanted to get into the first Resi game. Seems like it'd be right up my ally these days.
