Done with Village of Shadows. What a chore that last boss fight was.

I'm not even close to getting this game yet but mega64 is still so good

My favourite is probably still the old tetris one.

I still love the Resi 4 one

My new game + is bugged. When I get to the village I have no weapons from my previous save. In fact all I can pick up is a knife and nothing else!

Some set up an iPad and YouTube a walthrough and follow it exactly, by pausing and all that bobbins.

I’ve put this game aside for a while as it’s very rage inducing.

Managed to get S rank on Factory 2. It seems the trick is to buy the magnum, use every bullet on the first stage while not worrying about killing all enemies, then sell it to buy the grenade launcher and use that to hold the combo throughout the second stage.

And that's the Platinum. Those get a weirdly specific number of Lei trophies are really really dumb. The knife only run was pretty shat too. The game didn't need either of those.

Hoping for some DLC tonight.

Overall really pleased with how this turned out. Very confident it's an upgrade over 7 now and might have it in my top 3 Resi games.

DLC has just started development.

Apparently the PC version is still a mess so I'd hope a patch would be coming out for that first before DLC.

Is it? I didn't encounter any real bugs or issues with the PC version.

I had some slowdown in the room where you destroy the wall and fight the second daughter in the castle but that was it.

A lot of complaints that there's a memory leak if you've got ray-tracing on so the longer the game continues, the lower the framerate gets. Stuttering whenever an enemy is killed too regardless of ray tracing.

Knife only runs are a Resi trope at this point, and one that I quite enjoyed to be honest. The Lei trophy was only a couple of minutes work once I realised you can craft AR ammo and sell it for 7 lei.

Think it's a bit much to call them a trope. RE2 & 3 didn't have requirements for it. I suppose it gets you to interact with the game differently which is a novelty but tbh I just ran past everything I didn't have to kill which was very trivial. If they're going to have this stuff I'd rather it make you actually play in a meaningfully unique or more challenging way. It's barely a complaint as I enjoyed the excuse to go through again, I just think they could do more with it given a lot of the value in these games is the replayability.

The Lei thing you basically just look up and get it. It doesn't add anything other than an unnecessary hurdle. I know you could say that about 80% of trophies, but most don't make you do gooseberry fool maths with only some of the numbers.

Struggling with the mercenaries mode. I’ve got an S on the first stage but it took me a good few tries.

Are combos the most important and should I always go for the blue orbs?

Yes and yes. Killing every enemy in the level also gets you a good bonus too, so do that.

Thanks, if it came down to time versus killing all enemies, which one would you go for?

All enemies, firstly. And then with practice, you should be able to achieve both.

Finished it. Enjoyable, but I preferred 7 to be honest.
