Blow on the cartridge man, that'll fix it.

Success! :toot:

Gave the cartridge a good clean with a couple of earbuds/qtips, the amount of muck that came off it :dread:

A relief to know that it was just the cartridge, but I guess that's all part of the charm and quirkiness of these near-30 year old machines, would be boring if everything worked perfectly every time :slol:

That's great news, Preezy... welcome to the world of the Mega Drive :D . It's gonna be cool to search out other carts; take your time and enjoy the classics.

Had a bit of a cartridge haul at the weekend. Didn't know there was a GB Wave Race!

I've just seen these in the Retro thread as a part of your retro trip adventure... so neat! Yeah, there was also a GameBoy Wave Race console bundle released (I think it included the console, the game and a carry case, IIRC) but it's a title that I don't own. Tennis and Golf are simple but still fun... and it's amazing to think that you could release games with just those titles back then  .

Yeah... I haven't posted pictures in the past few weeks as my retro gear is packed away in boxes both in a cupboard and at my mum and dad's place. I will try to make more of an effort.

And God did pass down unto Sega the scripture for thine perfect gaming machine, and Sega did look upon the plans and they were pleased:

Your Sega collection is expanding well, Preezy! I never owned a DC but there's no doubt it's a cool machine. I can see you've got Metropolis Street Racer (dat Project Gotham precursor :datass: )... have you given it a good play yet?

I adored PGR at the time - being a Nintendo gamer, it was something the likes of which I had never seen...and it had one of the best soundtracks ever...radio stations and entire songs written for the game. I have the actual soundtrack on cd too.

The only criticism I have of PGR is that the game is linked to the DC internal clock, so if you're playing during the day on the London tracks, it's always day, and night time is always night...which is a pain as it means London is always dark when playing at night etc...

I've only given each game a quick blast just to check that they work properly but I can't wait to actually have a proper gaming session with Shenmue.

It might just be my favourite-looking console, it's such a nice design. Controller isn't my favourite though, not sure what Sega were going for with that

It's the 3d controller for Nights on the Saturn.

I'm not 100% happy as it has a small tear at the top of the spine which you couldn't tell unless you remove the sleeve. But otherwise it's in decent condition after a clean.
