Played a demo of Stranglehold but never the full game.. I think I even owned it at one point too. Ok a similar note I played a demo of Rise to Honour (the Jet Li game on PS2) back in the day, I always wanted to play the full game but never saw it anywhere.

I did briefly play Stranglehold, (possibly the demo), but don't recall ever playing/owning the full game. I bought it the other week after a discussion at work on John Woo films.

So it's a couple days late but this is how my display is coming along.

Image

The game shelf is looking a little messy as I'm run ING out of space in the cave! But I'm happy with the Cube shrine and my figure display on top :D

That's a very cool setup, Doom! I love your 'Cube variants and the game collection looks neat. Terrific to see a couple of N64 carts on display!

I need to move before I can get a game room. :(

My living room is the game room. I have like 8 consoles out. I am super lucky I know, but we were playing motostorm on the PS3 the other day

Speaking of securing our "investments" (:shifty:), I asked the girlfriend whether she would be bothered putting up a CCTV camera I've owned all this time, by the door. She doesn't mind, so that's something. I would then at least have some photography if someone picked the lock, and made out with some of my equipment (like my expensive cutting machines). We've also agreed to deadlock the door (mortice) lock at night.

Very nice

My whole house is a gaming room really. We're both in to games (context) so the living room is tv and consoles, upstairs is VR and PC, with drums and guitar split between them.

It looks great - I'm a wee bit worried about the middle shelf as it looks a little bowed under the weight, but I don't know if that's just my shitty eyes. :slol:

I need to redo all of my retro gear - this is my project this weekend.

That won't really matter. Only hardwood won't warp or rather it will very slowly

So I've been meaning to show off my games room, which is still a work in progress, but I'm finally happy with the general layout I have.

So here's a few pics...
1 - What you see when you enter. Everything is on the left hand side, which leaves plenty of space for VR games on both the PS4 and PC.
Image

2 - Right next to the PC is my second monitor, Xbox collection (69 games and counting, but I have a few duplicates), Wii games and my PlayStation discs.
I have more PS3 games, but they are at my mum and dads caravan with the PS3 Slim. You'l also notice my Arcade Stick and HOTAS on top.

Image

3- Under the window and you've got the TV unit with all my main consoles hooked up.
I've also got a couple of retro systems underneath, but only the Xbox is currently connected (Playing Shenmue II right now)

Image

4 - My CRT (£10 off gumtree including the stand). I don't tend to use this that often as it makes a high frequency noise that you forget CRTs used to make.
Saturn is currently hooked up through a nice RGB SCART cable, giving a nice sharp image.

Image

5- Just some random bits and bobs. The only things of real note are my Raspberry Pi in a US SNES style case and my ZX Spectrum which is sadly knackered.

Image

6- My boxed GameBoy collection. I bought every Pokémon game up until Diamond so I've got them nicely arranged. Everyone of them is a US copy as well. I never could be bothered waiting for the UK releases.
I also got my original GBA imported from Japan on launch, hence the Japanese F-Zero box, which was joined by Mario Kart as soon as it released.
I have more unboxed games, but everything that's more or less CIB is here.

Image

7 - My handheld hardware. Clockwise from top right... PSP 1000 (Imported Japanese launch model), Backlit Modded GameBoy, GBA, 3DS, GPD XD+, DS Lite, Bittboy Pocket Go, GBA SP.
Also the only three PSP games I ever bought. I got really into the "homebrew" scene for PSP (If you know what I mean). :shifty:

Image

8 - Some boxed (And unboxed) Sega games. It's not in this picture but I have a CIB copy of Burning Rangers which is the pride of my Saturn collection.

Image

9 - More boxed games, this time for N64. The vast majority of these are CIB (Though I no longer have my CBFD cart).
Castlevania is the only standard SNES box I still have and is sadly in pretty poor shape outside of the plastic protector it's in.

Image

10 - Tub on the left is all the various controllers and inputs I've accumulated over the years. I'm planning on getting something a bit more elegant looking for this.
On the right is where all my loose carts and other games are kept. This includes most of the SNES, NES, GB and N64 titles I've bought. I've also got a couple of CD wallets full of Saturn games too.

Image

11 - Bottom cabinets have my PS4/PC wheel which I mostly use for Euro Truck. My Oculus Rift is also in there as well.
Beyond that it's just the Nintendo systems I don't have hooked up which are here.

Image

12 - This is where I display the stuff I'm really happy with. So you'll notice ALL my Metroid stuff is here. I'm only missing boxed copies of the NES original, Prime Pinball, Federation Force and Zero Mission.
I've also got the two jewels in my crown, CIB (Practically mint) PAL copies of Paper Mario and Burning Rangers. PM I got at launch and Burning Rangers for £5 from a small games shop about 17 years ago.
You'll also see my Street Fighter 15th Anniversary PS2 Pad and my Boxed copy of Sigil (Romero's 5th Doom Episode).

I've got more stuff to add to the room. I want to get some more shelves put in and get my poster frames up. But right now I'm pretty happy with it. :D

Wow, CD, that looks really smart! You have a broad range of gaming stuff and it is presented really well here. It must be great to have a bit of space for setting up so many systems. Lovely to see your OG Xbox set; it's a format that seems to be popular with a few GRcadians at the moment.

Oh, and of course, bonus points for having the U featured :-) . Looking forward to seeing more snaps as you add to the collection, dude.

Thanks Jawa. It's definitely still a bit of a work in progress. There's more stuff I want to get up and get on display. I've got a few "Coffee Table" style games books like Hyrule Hystoria (and the Art and Encyclopaedia books) and the Half-Life 2 Raising the Bar books that I want to find space for.

We'll see what we can fit in when it comes to getting shelves and things up.

All the GB/GBA/N64 boxes had been kept in the cupboard at my mums house for years, so I'd been able to keep them in good nick for the most part. Plus I'd really tried to keep things good.

I'm more annoyed at all the games I used to have boxes for that are gone. All those SNES and GB games. :(

For anyone who is wanting to look after their boxes I'd recommend the plastic protectors I've been using. There's plenty of people on eBay selling them and you can usually get 10 or so for £10.

And thanks Cora. The collection is my pride and joy.

Awesome looking Game Room Devlin! Really nice mixture of systems and games, love those Japanese GBA boxes

I know the feeling on the boxes being gone, so frustrating! All my Game Boy games were boxed but loads either gone or the boxes have been damaged/crushed in storage. I ended up printing a load of covers for mine years back and had them in DS cases which I liked but eventually I ended up buying a load of repro boxes off a guy on Etsy to give them the original look, I know repro's aren't for everyone and cause a lot of debate in the retro community because of dodgy resellers but for the sake of my personal collection I really like the look of them.

Having a proper room for all your stuff is nice, I've finally got my own games room to the point where I'm really happy with it, although I always seem to be tinkering with it! Will have to share some pictures at some point. The wife isn't into gaming so there isn't really anything gaming-wise anywhere else in the house (though I did sneak the mini consoles and a steam link into the front room :shifty:) but can't really complain at having a full room dedicated to gaming!

You must own a feather duster!

Nice gear. I also have two of those plastic pikachus. I keep one in the living room, I put it on stuff as a sign to my partner to say "hey look I did this thing".
