Good idea.

Shame it's an arse as only the app actually posts images but I believe I have the sufficient flair. I qualify because I have an undercut

I know I'll stay logged into gr on my iPad that I never use for insta because only morons do that, I can save the images here.

Not a bad idea, if Jawa Pms me the pics he wants sharing with captions I'll push them out to Twitter and Facebook.

There is/was GRsocial but that's going offline in a few days when i bin my web hosting. Need to take a backup thinking about it..

I'm not sure we have enough stuff for instagram, also the posts can't have links in i believe, you can put link text but it doesn't hyperlink.

Would work on Twitter and fb where we have some following though

So I'll get us started then.

This is my most recent purchase, something I've been after for a while and from what I can tell not too many people here have.

I received a message from a forumite here offering me the game which I duly accepted. Everything is in tremendous condition and this completes the Mario sports set:

Nice! No, as far as I'm aware, not many people anywhere have that. It looks in ace condition. I haven't seen it for a reasonable price anywhere, ever - I don't even recall seeing it in stock in places that stocked GC games when it first came out!

Last time I came across a copy (that was certainly in decent nick) was at this year's Retro Market in Donny. It was £55 though - more than I could really justify!

What's it play like, Drummy?

I've got it as well, though I can't remember if I bought it from a forumite or from my local Gamestation around 2006.

I've heard that it's UK print run was pretty much in four figures right?

I've played it and it was okay. I mean, it's a weird game to pick to Mario-fy. If you like baseball you'll like play something more serious and for instant, party-style multiplayer, something as slow as baseball isn't ideal. It doesn't have the immediacy or manic-ness the faster, back-and-forth sports have.

Now this is what we're looking for! Drummy pitches up and smashes a home run!

Great pic, man. As I've mentioned before, I'm not much of a 'Cube buff but this title does seem pretty hard to find; like Dan pointed out, I don't recall seeing it on shop shelves. The condition looks to be lovely, too. It was a good idea to take a pic of it alongside your other GC sports games as it gives a feel for how it is housed.

Nice work, Drum, and thanks for launching our first Weekender! I'm looking forward to seeing what other GRcadians post... I will do my one this afternoon!

The Japanese love their baseball Parksey, don't they? Makes sense for them to try and Mario it up, I suppose. The Mario sports collection is looking great! I'll see if I can get a theme picture sorted out later on.

Excellent pic. Shame that the football one just looks out of place with it's cover. Never realised Mario baseball existed, is there a basketball one?

Ok, my turn! This post has given me an excuse to sort through my collection anyway.

I'll try and think of some kind of "theme" for each week.

Anyone want to guess this week's theme? :toot:

Anthropomorphism! :toot:
Excellent collection Andy! Are they all NES boxes? So stylish!

Ooh... now this is nice! Man, what a terrific spread of NES titles! They look to be in wonderful condition, Andy. I guess they are each complete with the manual? They certainly make for an enticing set!

Ha ha, yes, I guess that could be the theme :toot:

But as Pedz said, the theme I had in mind was "cartoon" games, or more particularly "80s & 90s cartoon games."

Yeap, all original NES boxes :)

I guess the 'rarest' games in that photo are Bucky O Hare and Duck Tales 2. Both released in limited quantities as the end of the NES' life when the SNES was already out in the UK.

Edit - yeap Jawa, all complete with the box, manual, black NES sleeve and polystyrene insert :)

Damn, used to love Bucky O'Hare as a kid!

I've not picked up much in the way of retro stuff recently. I've not added to my GameCube collection in a few years either but its still a collection i'm proud of

Hey, Milner, don't worry about having to post "new" retro gear, dude. I haven't added to my collection for about five years but we can still pick out a game or two and show that :toot: .

So this is today's collection - Resident Evil N64 and GC era. Code Veronica was very kindly sold to me by a forumite a couple of years ago. I don't know what everyone knows about the GC Resi games - RE:Make, Zero and 4 all sold very well in the PAL territories but 2 and 3 only received fairly limited print runs - I believe around 20,000 - so go for a bit more nowadays. Funnily enough though, the most expensive game in that pic is the N64 one, which was a couple of quid more than its GC counterpart.

I will need to replace RE:Make in the future as the case is slightly frayed at the bottom, but the rest is in very good condition. Resident Evil 2 N64 has a small scratch on the sticker but it isn't visible under normal circumstances.

"What are ya buyin'?", Cora! Great to see such an ace Resi collection! The GC certainly got its fair share of Resident Evil titles. You did will to get the N64 version; it was a cool version of the game that really pushed the N64 and it was, I believe, one of the largest capacity '64 carts made.

My Zelda collection up to the GC/GBA era....

A few of the boxes are repros and not all of them have manuals, would love to get originals in the condition I want some day but these will more than do for now. :D

Loving other peoples collections, Andy that's a particularly great set of NES games!

Liking the Mario Baseball photos. I'm not a fan of the game itself, but good to see a relatively obscure GC game.

AndyXL, nice collection! Always great to see games in a series/genre together. Excellent condition too from the looks of it.

Unfortunately Cora's link doesn't work for me. Will post something of my own later.
