That's awesome Earl Grey. 8-bit tunes that don't loop every 25 seconds are the best.

I thought I was the only one who liked the music in Columns :o Good to see another fan!

...thinking about it, we're also probably among the very few who like Columns full stop!

o/

Columns is a hideously underrated game in almost every respect thanks to Tetris. They're not even that similar, save for the fact that stuff falls down a vertical playing area and if it gets to the top you lose. It's a lot more similar to Puyo Pop/Mean Bean Machine if anything.

But yeah, it's awesome 8-)

'The Ballad of the Wind Fish' from Link's Awakening is awesome. So simple, yet so brilliant.

Everything from The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask is just so powerful and atmospheric:

I hope Nintendo go make some similarly awesome music themes for the next Zelda, which I am expecting to be different to Twilight Princess.

strawberry float what anyone else says, I find this more memorable than the original Super Mario Bros theme. In fact, whenever I go to whistle it I always end up whistling this one.

Marioland doesn't get anything like enough respect. As a game crafted to and around the inherent limitations of the original Gameboy though, it's a work of art.

It's funny, as a kid I preferred Land 2, but over the years I think I've changed to liking 1 more, partly due to it suiting the Game Boy better. Both are still very fine games though :)

It's also funny that it as you say doesn't get enough respect, it's one of the best selling games of all time! I suppose not having a remake/rerelease doesn't help that. God I wish Nintendo would bring back some of their classic Game Boy titles via obvious means :(

I remember once there was this guy, he was pretty drunk, and had finished playing a metal/grunge concert where he destoryed a drumkit (figuratively, he just rocked hard), and then he went on this old crummy piano and started playing the Mario Land 1 tune perfectly, with proper chords and stuff. Made my night.
