Nice to see retro survived intact. I imagine there will be perhaps one new topic here by the end of the week?

What is considered "Retro" these days. A few years ago it was anything up to the 16-bit era (SNES/Mega Drive). Would the 32/64-bit era be included now?

I'd assume so, yes. Wasn't the last Nintendo 64 game released in 2002/2003? And most of the classics for that system are a good 9-10 years old now.

Yeah, I'd call the N64 retro now as well.

Even though the Dreamcast is a last-gen console, I always consider it Retro for some reason. :?

Died before it's time, and essentially commercially dead.

And before anyone tries to say "but it still gets new games" - so do the Atari 2600 and the ZX Spectrum.

I think we should make a genuine effort of posting in here to keep this section alive this time. At least, I'll try to.

I think I've seen this discussion before, and the general consensus was that anything that isn't current gen is retro.

For me, 16 bit or older is retro. I'm not sure why, but N64 still feels too contemporary for me. Maybe i'm just getting old...
